    Complete overhaul- 22nd October 2013

    Lore

The Wild Hunt is a pack of magical monsters which are incredibly powerful and completely out of control, killing everything which they see. It is the result of a ritual performed by a group of Bosmer to return to the absolute chaos of the Dawn Era. The lack of control, the sheer destruction, and the fact that any Bosmer who participate in it are permanently transformed mean that it is only called upon in the most desperate of circumstances, for a deadly purpose. There have only been three confirmed hunts- one which killed the Nordic King Borgas and caused fifty years of civil war in Skyrim; one which possibly occurred at the same time the walking city of Falinesti halted; and one in which a group of Bosmeri villagers transformed and destroyed a Khajiiti army.

The Wild Hunt is a pack of shifting forest-demons and animal-gods, thousands strong, which sweeps through the countryside killing everything its path. -Eric of Guis.

Now the return of the dragons, and Skyrim’s Civil War on top of a delicate political climate, has caused a group of Bosmer to call the Wild Hunt once again, but this time it is different. Instead of transforming immediately they channelled all the power into one person, the youngest of their order, a normal hunter, who is now heading to Skyrim to help deal with threats against the Bosmer and Valenwood, but she has no memory of the ritual, and no idea of the power within her. When feeling intense emotion or in serious danger the power which is lurking under her skin will erupt, triggering a small Wild Hunt which will last until the emotion has faded or the danger has past.

Gender: It is up to you- I played as a woman, and the pictures I have used are of women, but nothing in the build is specifically for male or female characters.

    Race: Bosmer Werewolf

    Standing Stone: The Ritual

Stat Distribution: 3 Magicka; 1 Health; 1 Stamina

Major Skills: Illusion; Conjuration; Archery; Alteration

    Minor Skills: Sneak

    Weapons: Bound/Mystic Bow

Apparel: Clothes; the Ring of Hircine/the Ring of Namira. I suggest getting a Novice Hood to increase your magicka reserves and let you cast bound bow early on

    Perks: Level 25, Level 47

Quests: Hircine’s for the Ring of Hircine; Namira’s for the Ring of Namira; the Companions

A normal hunter with slight magical abilities, this is who you are before the Wild Hunt is unleashed.

    Gameplay

Basically play as a hunter- stalk your prey with sneak, get a sneak attack or two in, and then finish them off, all with archery. You will be using: muffle to keep quiet and level illusion; bound bow for damage and to level conjuration; and various alteration spells to find your opponents and protect yourself. Faendal is a good follower as he is both Bosmer and an archer, and if you enchant some muffled boots for him he becomes slightly stealthy too (while giving you a bit more firepower for your hunts). Acquire the Ring of Namira early on as it gives you healing outside of bought potions.

It is not the most powerful style of play, especially since it is no crafting, but between the strong bound/mystic bow and Faendal you shouldn’t be easily overwhelmed. I also find it satisfying.

It is tempting to frequently use both types of hunt, but if you restrain yourself until a situation where you’re really in trouble the satisfaction and sense of awe/power which comes with it is enhanced.

    Roleplay and Quests

As a Bosmer hunter in Skyrim your main focus should be on hunting funnily enough, both for food and to kill dangerous animals, while also exploring the wilds. As a foreigner in these lands you will want to do favours for people you meet so you can have friends, and especially help any other Bosmer you see. Try to follow the Green Pact by eating only meat and feeding on any human or mer enemies you kill via the Ring of Namira.

From a roleplaying perspective when to call the Wild Hunt is interesting- obviously you can call in when you're in danger, but also in times of strong emotion. It only has to be strong emotion, not good or bad, so it could be called if you see something that angers you, or even if you're happy, leading to some interesting situations and consequences.

Quest-wise I recommend small favour and fetch quests to get to know the population, while for larger quests take those which will aid the Bosmer as a whole e.g. Destroy the dark Brotherhood. Specific quests to be taken as soon as possible are: Ill met by Moonlight for the Ring of Hircine; The Taste of Death for the Ring of Namira; and the Companions until at least the end of The Silver Hand to join a group of hunters and gain the ability to become a werewolf.

The Wild Hunt takes on a necromatic aspect, with the dead rising from their graves and appearing from thin air to cause chaos and defend the Bosmer.

    Gameplay

The hunt begins when you cast a flesh spell and summon a soul cairn summon (or two), before switching to illusion and start using fear and frenzy on everything on sight. Once combat has properly engaged switch to your bow and start dealing damage. By now there should be a few corpses lying around, so feed on one with the Ring of Namira to fortify yourself and then activate the Ritual Stone power to bring them back and add to your numbers. The size and power of the Hunt will now be enough that all but the most deadly enemies will be overwhelmed in seconds.

There are several shouts which can add to this Hunt, the main ones being: Call of Valour to replace a conjuration; Dismay for extra fear; Marked for Death to weaken enemies; and Summon Durnehviir for an undead dragon who can call one of each Soul Cairn summon.

If you want to be able to use this Hunt more than once per day then make the Aetherial Crown via the quest Lost to the Ages and attach the Ritual Stone to it, while using the Lord Stone to give you a little more defence.

The Wild Hunt calls to nature itself, causing predator and prey, and even the creatures of Hircine himself, to turn feral and join forces to destroy the enemies of the Bosmer.

    Gameplay

Start with summoning a familiar, before casting a flesh spell and using the Bosmer’s racial power- Command Animal. This is already formidable, but transforming into a werewolf and using the Totem of Brotherhood to call two more werewolves to the party makes it far more so. Fighting is simple as your group will charge enemies, with yourself in the middle of the action, and you will tear them to pieces. Remember to feed to extend your time as a werewolf and heal yourself.

Shouts again are not necessary but can add to the power and flavour of the Hunt. Call Dragon adds the mightiest of beasts to your side; animal allegiance can be used as a substitute for command animal; slow time lets you set up everything very quickly; and storm call turns the skies against your enemies.

On Solstheim there is a pack of werewolves who you can buy rings from, if you are a werewolf. These rings augment your abilities and so should be worn if you are transforming without the aid of the Ring of Hircine, i.e. for the first time that day.

This is a really good first build, well done. You're right, there aren't too many high quality Bosmer builds so this should attract some attention. If I end up playing it, I think I'd probably drop one handed and have a high focus on crafting powerful poisons and using archery w/ conjuration.

Thanks :) haha I hope so. Fair enough, I just like using both and wanted some flexibility.

Very nice!  It's like seeing Gwaihen in Character Build form...only more...Wild Hunt-y...okay, more like seeing Gwaihen's father in Character Build form.  Yeah, there we go.  This is totally how their clan would fight if in Skyrim.

Though, the only thing that bugs me is siding with the Empire.  But I guess if you want to do the Civil War, you kinda have no choice.  More than likely, Bosmer are probably going to side with their clan and their clan only (a little like the Khajiit in those respects) or the Aldmeri Dominion.  I don't think there were too terribly many who sided with the Imperials when the Dominion came knocking.  My guess is they were a lot like American voters: they opted out and watched the whole mess happen. ;)

Haha yeah the two fit together very nicely :) compliments on Gwaihen by the way, I enjoyed reading it.

I'll admit I was a little unsure about it as the Bosmer don't seem bothered about the whole thing as you said, but I was struggling for dangers big enough that they would bring the Wild Hunt to Skyrim and it was pretty much the only option apart from the dragons which I used too. So feel free to ignore it if you want to use the build for your Gwaihen :) and thanks for the feedback.

I think this is pretty good, though with little focus on getting into range to actually use daggers I'd drop those 1-handed perks completely, or maybe just get Dual Flurry so you can attack more quickly. The use of Alchemy and Enchanting can more than make up for the damage lost there - the base damage on daggers is very little anyhow! Additionally, you don't really mention Beast Form much at all - how does it fit into the playstyle you've created? You mention this Beast Form Hunt ability, but in what situations should that be used, given Beast Form is a 1/day ability?

Also I urge you to be aware of the bumping guidelines in the Group Information Page, next time will be your last warning!

Thanks for the feedback, and yeah sorry about that, I didn't check it through well enough and I've deleted the post on the helpdesk. Oh yeah, I hadn't looked at it that way, that would save a few perks. The beast form is only to be used while hunting with all your powers, so when you are facing a larger group of enemies, and I've got the Ring of Hircine so you can change more than once a day, so if you want to use it a lot then you can. The savagery of the werewolf also works well with the lore of the wild hunt, I thought those two things will be enough. I will update it to be clearer about that and also get rid of the armsman perks.

You know what looks great with a Archer/Hunter?
    Savior's Hide
    Krosis Mask
Guanlets of the old gods and boots of the old goods..
My Witch Doctor is wearing this but only the mask is the mask of Vokun.
He's a Breton though so I dont know what it'd look like with a Bosmer.
    Nice build Overall.
