    The Basilisk

Jarl Balgruuf (looking at the pale man in the bed): Calm down son, take a deep breath and just tell me exactly what happened.

Badly injured soldier: (Coughing and vomiting) That’s the problem sire… I… I… don’t know. We were patrolling by the river… Then this creature appeared out of nowhere. I couldn’t… I couldn’t move. I could only watch while… my fellow guards were being slaughtered. I… even saw the thing feast on one of the corpses. I think… I think that’s when I lost consciousness… (As he finished his sentence, the guard loses consciousness again).

Healer : I don’t think he will survive the night. Not only he is badly injured but he has been poisoned by a very lethal concoction. I’m sorry sire, we did all we could.

     BUILD, GAMEPLAY, ROLEPLAY

    • The basilisk eyes are a very powerful weapon: the creature can paralyse anyone just by looking at them.
    • Its saliva is frequently blood-tinged, because its teeth are almost completely covered by gingival tissue that is naturally lacerated during feeding. This creates an ideal culture for the bacteria that live in its mouth, making it’s saliva a really potent poison. The basilisk uses this at his advantage by licking or spitting on his weapon before he attacks.
    • The basilisk has a tough shell: its scales are highly resistant to both magic and melee attack (read alteration perks and flesh spells). The scales have another amazing propertiy: they can change color to make the basilisk blend with its environment. (sneak and invisibility spells)
    • Like many lizards, the basilisk has the ability to regenerate and heal. Even lost limbs will eventually grow back. (Enchanting and healing spells are used to simulate the regen abilities. You also have the great hitskin ability).
    • That bastard is a fast creature: those lucky enough to resist his paralysing attack and poison will have to face a flurry of devastating blows (dual wield + elemental fury). The creature can also move so fast that you'll have a hard time escaping its attack (Slow time).
    • The basilisk is a natural survivor that doesn’t hesitate to feed on corpses… event though he prefers flesh blood! (Ring of namira)
    • Youg basilisk don't have all the abilities of a matured one (read illusion and alteration spells), so the youngling have to be more cautious and attack their prey by surprise (sneak + backstab).
    • You can tweak health – stamina – magicka to suits what you use the most. However alteration spells, invisibility and namira’s ring make health a less important factor.

    Gameplay

One thing you’ll wanna do as soon as possible is leveling up your alteration and illusion skills. This can easily be done by casting detect life and muffle. However this has one drawback : you might level up really quickly without any increase in your other skills, so don’t use this trick all the time.

You’ll be relying on sneak attack, poison and flurry attack at first. As soon as you get higher level spells, you’ll use invisibility or sneak to approach your enemies and then you’ll simply paralyse them before slashing them to death!

If things go sour, you can either use invisibility to conceal yourself or use your incredible speed to outrun your opponent (whirlwind speed).

    Roleplay

You are a conceited bastard that thinks his natural abilities make him a stronger warrior than anyone or anything else. In fact, in your head you are well on top of the food chain! Therefore, you always fight up close and personal, you never use ranged weapon. The basilisk is a loner (no followers: no one could stand the fool stench of his breathe anyways…) who survive by selling his services as a mercenary or assassin. He is known to kill anyone who crosses him and often kill (and eat!) his employers after getting paid...

    1. No followers. The basilisk is a loner.
    2. Do not become a vampire or werewolf, the basilisk is a supernatural creature in itself.
    3. No ranged weapons, you like to look your opponents in the eyes while they drown in their own blood.

That’s about it. Hope you enjoy it!

Since a basilisk is supposed to paralyze people just by looking at them wouldn't you only want to use the serpant stone?

I like it! You get my +1, and you're going in my Argonian Section on my profile!

That being said, I agree with Popo. You need to limit the stone (I suggest the Serpent).

Also, change that picture. It looks ridiculous.

    Thx for the comments!

The Serpent Stone is the one I personnaly use. However I think that the other stones fit the character background too : Atronach for the natural spell resistence, Lady for the regen abilities and shadow for invisibility.

And for the picture, which one do you hate? I had a hard time finding "lizardman" pictures lol

The first one, I hate it.

As for the stone, you NEED to limit is. You can't give a lot of choices and expect us to just pick one. Limit it to one and if someone thinks another will fit then they can change it on their own.

    Done.

The Stone has been limited to Serpent since it's the one that fit the build the most. I also changed the picture just for you man, hope you like it because I won't change it again!

Awesome! Might I suggest stability for longer paralyze spells! Cool character concept and well done!
