They don't make alot of money, but you don't actually need alot of money...not by this games standards anyway. It's only about 200 - 400gold a click for the speech training...

Speech is one of those skills that's easy to level early anyways (particularly if you already have the Nord or Breton head start).  A trip to Riften can boost you many levels quickly- get a charity blessing and the Dibella blessing from Haelga's, and you'll be able to pass the persuasion tests for the Riften gate, Maul, the Black Briar guy, the Argonian woman, Sapphire, and the three higher level persuasion checks from Svana's mini mission (you'll need speech up to 50 with your blessings for those IIRC).  There's three or four more persuasion tests up in Solitude as well (not to mention all of the other spots you can get one persuasion test easily).  While you're in Solitude, you can go down to the docks and regularly get 12 salmon roes for the uber valuable roe potions.  If you have the Thief Stone and Well Rested and you're selling things as well along the way, you can get to 50 without paying for it quite easily.

Yup.  The persuasion and intimidation perks are useless.  By the time you get your speech to level 50, you can usually find a few draughts of glibness (or an amulet of Dibella combined with a gift of charity) that will get your through the very few high level checks other than the College persuasion check (which needs 100).  Intimidation doesn't even seem to work properly.

And the Amulet of Articulation makes them all worthless

Hello Mason, first I want to say that I really like your builds! Tried the chaos ranger, the obsidian sentinel and the salamander, and they were all awesome. Now I kinda wanted to try my hands at the Nightstalker because I never delved into necromancy too much. I have a few questions about the playthrough (hopefully nobody asked you this yet): you put points into Mystic Binding and Soul Stealer to increase the power of the Bound Bow. Do you go for the Bound Bow at Fort Amol right at the start of the playthrough or do you do the whole alchemy/enchanting/training at Revyn's place, let Conjuration increase during the "normal game" and then buy the spell?

I can't remember exactly but it's highly likely that I was drawn to fort Amol to pick up the bound bow early, it's a great treat...

I played the Nightstalker mostly organically (didn't worry too much about grinding) because the combination of cairn summons and the bound bow is already incredibly deadly. It only takes around 200 enchantments at the table to get enchanting to 100 and when your main weapon (Bound Bow) is capturing souls on every available kill it goes up very fast, soul gems are everywhere...

    Thanks mate!

Good to know. That answers why it never goes up when I dont use magic.
