Let's talk about builds

Let's be honest, if there is one thing that this site is known for across the Internet it is our HUGE collection of fantastic and highly-detailed builds.

With Fallout 76 on the horizon, the question has to be asked: How are we going to make builds in Fallout 76?

Yes, it's time that we starting talking about the subject of 'builds'. What will they be like? How will we make builds when there are no human NPCs? What difference will it make that every other character is a real person? Let's start with a video that looks into some of the issues

So... what do we think? How easy will it be to make builds? Will we need to make builds in a way that collaborates with others - for example swapping perk cards etc. Let'd discuss on this thread.

I'm afraid building in 76 will work the same as in every other MMO. With almost each major update, perks will change and builds will often need to be remade from scratch... :(

Hmm, it's going to be tough and I think building just isn't going to be a huge part of Fallout 76. I just think it's going to be way too fluid for the system to really work at all like we're used to. What I think is going to work a bit better is the idea of creating 'Team Builds' more than individual builds, setting up how sets of 4 are going to work well. I could be wrong, but the issue is just what Noodles said, plus the way that Perk Cards seem to work.

I wonder if we're going to have a holy trinity system for "dungeon runs"...

It'll be interesting to see how it turns out, especially if Charisma based build are as party-focused as some of the early perks have made it seem. Kinda makes the idea of a more 'Cleric' like Tank/Charisma character to pretty useful in a party even if they can't dish out much damage. Kind of grabbing a party filled with the 'Cleric' two Gunners and then the Melee/Item Carrier dude with high Strength.

A lot more stuff is viable as long as you can get a team together...

Mmmm, maybe you can use Charisma to boost the morale of your party. Sexy pin-up medic bard girl coming up!
