So...Carry Weight and Storing Stuff

  • November 18, 2018

So by now you've probably realized that the game has a flaw, a flaw that is by far more annoying than anything else (I've encountered) in the game. The limited amount of stuff you can carry is fine, but the issue is that we have such a ridiculously small stash. It's just, something that feels quite baffling and restricts the player way too much to feel nice.

So first, I wanted to ask if anyone has figured out a way around the 400 maximum stash + 150-200 carry weight the character has? And then second, how would you fix this issue if Bethesda came down and asked you to make a few decisions?

Just yesterday I went through my stash and dropped all the ammo that I don't use; which included 2000+ .38 and 1000+ .308, and that freed up about 80 of whatever weight value they are using. I've also got way too much radaway and rad-x which was weighing me down quite a bit.

Bethesda have claimed; and I saw people speculating beforehand, that the stach limit is due to server load. They've also said they will be increasing it, by how much we don't know.

I'm just going to assume the answer is tonnes because it's more interesting :P If they aren't going to tell me I might as well make it as hilarious as possible.

But yeah, honestly my problem is that I'm not storing a whole bunch of Ammo/Aid content, it's mostly Junk and a few Weapons (Gatling Laser) oh plus my Power Armour set which I'm not willing to give up for fairly obvious reasons. I've gone through about 6 times and there's not much I want to give up you know? But yeah, I can understand why it might be a bit tricky to have too large a Stash. But I think that items aren't worth enough with vendors to justify selling most of the time...

Anyway, I read something really interesting (I can't remember where) about how to make the Stash a bit more interesting. Rather than just directly improving the 400 tonnes that I can store in my stash, you can upgrade it with materials and all that. So maybe the base is 400, but you can upgrade it to 600, 800, 1000, 1200 and so on. It would possibly ease up on the server as a whole because some people would only have that 400 while people that need it could have more. Not sure but I think it's the best method I've seen so far.

If you have excavator power armour you can carry an extra 100 tonnes, so I have that in my inventory for whenever I need the extra carry capacity and have left my level 50 power armour in my stash for when I can finally use it.

Hmm, yeah might need to look at that, would definitely be useful to add an extra 100 (plus you still get a Strength boost from Power Armour don't you?). Yeah I'll definitely grab that.

But damn Level 50 PA, that's nice :D

The level 50 set is a quest reward for the Brotherhood stuff.

Makes a fair amount of sense I suppose, I still haven't run into them (or anything about them bar the Airport Responders stuff) so I've been quite interested in hearing about the Brotherhood.

They're over the mountains on the east side of the map so you wont be getting to them until level 30+

Ah, yeah that's a bit far out of comfort zone right now, I don't know, I'm wondering if I haven't put enough points into my Shotgun Perks because I'm struggling to dish out decent rates of damage...might need to re-examine a few things about the set-up I'm running, because it's really not working out. I don't die but it costs me such a ridiculous amount of ammo to kill things (usually 6/12 shots unless it's something super powerful, even weaker enemies for some reason are taking 3 shots to kill sometimes).
