Halloween Seventeen

Wispy clouds drift across a full moon, wolves howl from a hilltop crowned by pines, and spine-chilling sounds emerge from a mist-shrouded cemetery. In a dark wood on the edge of a windswept moor, a solitary hut glows in the gloom from a fire pit within, around which the coven gathers to brew something frothing and noisome in a bubbling cauldron. The veil between the dark and light is at its thinnest causing the dead to rise and ghosts to haunt the ruined forts and castles which jut from the landscape like the bones of some ancient beast.

This is Halloween Seventeen and the Witches Festival has arrived here on the Tamriel Vault. Stir you cauldrons, fill your ink wells with the blood of a virgin, and prepare your sacrificial altars because any content you post between Saturday 21st October to Saturday 4th November that has a Halloween theme and uses the H17 # will be considered part of this site-wide event.

Creators of short stories, videos, lore articles, builds, RP profiles, and any quality piece of content that captures the spirit of this time of year will be awarded a special Event Badge.

We have structured this so that Hosts can run mini-events that focus on this theme so as to help shape and guide what they would like to see in their sections. Builds created for The Fallout CB Stranger Things Event will count as part of this seasonal spookiness, as will thematic entries for he Fallout Hub's Beasts of America Lore Event. TSC may wish to run a Poetry Event, The Roleplay Group might wish to focus on spooky snapshots... the choices are limitless and theme an inexhaustible basket of treats. So work with the Hosts or go lone-wolf and create for Halloween Seventeen!

Alright, folks? We hope that makes sense and welcome any questions and comments below so that we can help clarify this event for you :)

Sweet! Got me an idea for a Halloween post. Look for it October 21st!

(Though I'm gonna be crazy tempted to put it up before then xD)

Derp, forgot to promote my ESO thread here! It's a simple "post your character" thread, but with costumes! :D

    Here you are!

Yes! With me, Shin, dates and rules are concepts that break down upon examination :D Technically speaking, the citizens of Tamriel celebrate the Witches Festival from 13th October to Novermber 1st. We set a start date for submitted content later so as to give people time to get into Stranger Things for Fallout CB and Hub's Beasts of America. So if you find you've completed your project earlier than the 21st and are just itching to post and start another project, then I doubt anyone will mind ;)

Alright, that's a great idea! I think I'll take some screenshots tonight :D

Okay all, on the sidebar you should see this image:

The Halloween Seventeen picture will take you to this thread if clicked, and the items below it will take you to the individual events running. In the case of builds and WiPs, you'll be taken to a page containing content with the "Event:Stranger Things" #tag. As more content gets added with the "H17" #tag we will update that little block. Primarily, though, it's there for Live Features whereby anything with the appropriate group tags will find their way there automatically. So remember to tag your builds and WiPs ;)

What classifies as Halloween-themed, exactly? I'm almost tempted... almost. :)

Sound like a fun time, I might try my hand at giving a little writeup being if life decides not to intevene, and the fact that I've never actually done any short stories on here...

Let's see if we can increase that temptation :D Halloween themed content could be ghost stories. Imagine a scene in which there are people from different cultures sitting around a campfire one night. Their guide can sense the otherworld, can feel the spirits gathering at the edge of the wood, drawn by the stories he's telling his party ;) Halloween is about exploring the supernatural and having fun with the dark and spooky. It can also be about thriller and horror, although the more supernatural the better. Witches, ghouls, vampires, werewolves, ghosts, demons, and the spiritual stuff normally unseen by mortal eyes. Or at least that's what it means to me :D

Nice, exploring and sharing creativity is definitely a good thing. If you can find the time it would be great to see a short story :)

Does a fat Redguard with fondness of dogs count as Halloween themed?

Maybe? Is the dog undead? Does the story involve peanut butter?
