Huh I didn't even know any of this was happening. And honestly I kind of don't care.  All of this is a ridiculous thing to be upset about on both sides. It's a bloody video game website, lets all just talk about video games shall we?

@Henson. Mate if you read the statement written above it makes mention of a recorded conversation between one of our members and a member from the new site, this has not been made public at the request of the recipient, I have read this conversation and can confirm that poaching went on, I do not really have authority to discuss this matter any further, surffice to say that what I have told you all here is the truth, and that at no time has the truth been altered.

Having seen that conversation as well, I believe that it was not poaching, because again, and this goes back to what I was saying in my earlier comment, a simple offer to join and post on Nuka does not constitute poaching. Of course, you're more than free to believe otherwise, but don't pass off your beliefs as the one and only truth.

Being so new to the community I was not aware of any of this past history and all the unfortunate things that have been happening.  As such, there is not much that I can express that is either relevant or well-informed given my lack of context for much of this situation. However, even without that background, the knowledge that I may have been insensitive or done something to hurt another member of this community...that gets my attention and so I feel I have a responsibility to the community to contribute to this discussion as I certainly played a role in helping to create it.

What I CAN say is that the things that drew me to Tamriel Vault are probably exactly the same things that have drawn most members over the years.  Every time I search google for information on anything related to my favorite game, it is always Tamriel Vault that appears near the top of the list.  I was enjoying content from this site long before I ever joined and I appreciate how much work has gone into all of this amazing work.

As I explored the site more and became more engaged, it occured to me that perhaps my podcast could do something to help spread the word about Tamriel Vault and help draw more people of like mind to this great resource.  When I reached out to the Tamriel Vault team it was for this purpose.  How could Character Crusade Podcast work with Tamriel Vault to help promote all the wonderful things going on in this community.  Never at any time did I expect or imagine that we would be making videos about the content itself...it was about using the podcast to expand reach.

When I was approached about making videos highlighting content I was understandably flattered and did not hessitate to say yes.  In hindsight I believe I should have taken more time to fully understand and appreciate the culture of Tamriel Vault and get to know more of its contributors before launching myself, and the Character Crusade team, into the project.  I think I fell victim to my own excitement and regret that I may have given people the impression that I was here to "take over" or replace people who had been faithfully contributing for a very long time.  I can tell you honestly that this was never my intent....I was just pumped, as I think anyone might be when given a great opportunity. YouTubers like HX and PC Outcast are individuals I have much respect for and I do watch their videos.  I think it would be obvious to anyone how their content has enhanced the Tamriel Vault experience.

I recently posted a video on my channel discussing the reboot of Tamriel Vault Character Builds at CouchWarriorTV and explained why I stopped at 3 videos.  In summary, it just is not possible to do any of these builds justice in a 15 minute video.  The content is too detailed, too rich and too full of nuance to cover in that short a period and it did not make sense to carry on any further.  After some soul searching I concluded that the best thing for me to do was take some time to make a build myself so that I could fully appreciate the work that goes into this content and then find a better way to present it on YouTube that gave each build the respect it deserves.  For me the bottom line is that I love the content here and would simply like to help promote it to the best of my ability.

I would like to apologize to anyone who felt stepped on when I entered the scene.  That was never my intention and I admit fault for not having taken a bit of extra time to get to know the community before jumping in with both feet.  For those who feel that other long-time Tamriel Vault affiliates were rolled over in this process I have to say, "I agree with you".  However, I would also say that I am to blame for much of that.  I think that when a traveler enters new lands it is the responsibility of that traveler, not the natives, to understand and respect the customs and culture of the lands in which he travels.  I would submit that I am very guilty of NOT having done that.

It is my sincere hope that over time I will be able to make up for some of this by simply putting in the work required to show how much I value the site, the community and opportunity I am being given.  Thanks to Tamriel Vault and all of you I have launched my first build and after putting in many hours of research, testing and writing I feel as if I am only beginning to understand how amazing this thing is that all of you have built!  I take the same kind of pride in my channel and the podcast that I am lucky enough to produce with my best friends. It is easy to imagine how I might feel if some stranger came in and starting changing things about the show I have built from the ground up and come to love very much.

In the end, we all love Skyrim.  I suppose that will always ways be the common ground and I really hope that it will be enough to allow us to get back to the content that makes all of this so special.  In the mean time, I will do all I can to be a good community member and contribute my best efforts to honoring this wonderful content!

    Much gratitude and respect,
    -CW
