Skyrim Remastered Thread

Awesome! My gaming PC died last year, so I've been playing Skyrim on my bootcamped Macbook that I use for work.  It works, but it ain't pretty! I have a PS4, so I look forward to picking this up and getting back some HD graphics! I know it won't happen, but I'd love cross-save compatibility--like take my Macbook on the road and then when I get home pick up right where I left off on the PS4.

It's nice to know that when I eventually get a new PC I'll get the new edition for free (I have all the add-ons already).  Good on them for doing that.

Eh, honestly it is targeted for us Console Peasants, obviously it wouldn't do much for PC players but it is a massive step for communities in involving the console players who are left with graphics worse than even Vanilla PC Skyrim...Not to mention that we'd get mods with this

Personally it's awesome, worth the base $80 because it means I can lay Skyrim with mods and an actually decent frame rate, way better than blowing $600-$1000  on a new PC that could play Skyrim for sure.

Not to mention it'll bring along Twitch Streaming, Recording in general, Screenshots and a bunch of that awesome content that PC players really take for granted and give it to Console Players.

I'll be getting it, just so I can play in a prettier version of Skyrim that doesn't run like shite

I'm also a proud console peasant and Bethesda fanboy

I've been playing Skyrim for 5 years, by this point I'm not even ashamed at being a total fanboy who would probably buy any TES related content out there

I have no problem with it either, I'm just being me  I've played so much Skyrim, that I have no problem spending more on it.

Oh and before I forget I'm also personally responsible for AAA publishers doing remasters

For the record, most of the people on this site play on consoles. So the 'modding community already did this' argument is moot.

Really stoked for this, it will bring new life to an already legendary game, the prospects of using Mods like perkius Maximus and weapon retextures really excites me, I also hope it will breath new life into the site.  Oh and to all those who hate the idea, I've been ripped off, its Skyrim re-sold, don't buy it but don't bring your negativity here, simples

Well I just have one advice for you console players. Don't try and crash your game with countless of mods...

Once you board the ride, it will never end...

Just to clarify, I play console. My previous statement is geared towards the fact that I still play 360 and haven't considered investing towards the newer consoles yet. So the anger stems from the fact that I don't want to get a new console, just so I can play a prettier version of something I already have and thoroughly enjoy.

As much as I wanted TES VI, I'm glad we have something for those of us who like playing single player.  For us console is best as it's more social, we are often each other's eyes and offer a different view on a complicated puzzle, this is not possible on pc as we'd be tucked away in our respective offices. We also both run Linux, not Windows.

    So, positive's and negatives:

    Positives -

Access to mods (I'm only interested in a small number from what I've seen on the Vault, but would be good to try). I can take my own screenshots. Better graphics (not that I'm complaining about those on PS3 I still remember 16-bit gaming)

    Negatives -

Buying the game again (finance type do not like spending money!)
