POLL Your favourite homestead?

It's all about lakeview.  The lake is so pretty!  And it has an apiary.  That's really cool with the Hearthfire Extended mod, you can make so much mead.

Windstad. Hjaalmarch is the most depressing and atmospheric place in Skyrim for me. Mist-shrouded and forlorn, dismal and dark, lonely and forgotten.

Heljarchen. I always loved it, because I love the location, I love the snow, I loved looking out over the rock in the front yard to see where the pale and whiterun collide, and seeing all the deer roaming and grazing, it's simply beautiful.

Hmm, I'm more or less neutral here. I don't like any of them more than the other, but I don't love them all. To me the house my character uses (usually none) has a specific reason for being my goal, usually based on the area or their character (If I'm a Companion, I chill at Breezehome for convenience, if I was going to play a Thalmor agent it'd probably be Solitude), I usually don't pick one because I like it more you know.

Lakeview is the best because Lucia likes it there.

Lakeview is the best in my opinion because of the location. There is a beautiful view of the lake and valley in the distance and this made it an ideal area to settle down and start a family. My house setup is bedroom, storage room and kitchen, perfect to enjoy my life with my wife Shahvee while I force Lucia and Sofie to do the chores everyday (if you think Grelod is evil, I'm a million times worse). Rayya is the housecarl and Lydia is the steward and both patrol the house all day.

Without mods, it's Windstad Manor easily for me. Though I love Lake Ilinalta, Lakeview is the buggiest house in my experience, and the apiary is kind of worthless to me. Whereas Windstad's fish hatchery is an absolute godsend for any alchemist.

I prefer Windstad. I love the cold, isolated sort of environment for my more grim or asocial characters. It gives the feel of a hideaway or a place a person who is routinely attacked by Dragons would go in order to avoid harming bystanders.
