Dark Souls Build: Havel Dad

    He's back.

    And he's better than ever.

    The Build

Class: Bandit. Before he became the legend he is today, Havel Dad was just a lowly bandit. He always dreamed of being a brave knight, and one day his dream came true. He found a set of chainmail armor and a sword and proceeded to do knightly things. The dream quickly turned into a nightmare, though. A giant eagle took him away to the Undead Asylum while he was sleeping in the wilderness. The Asylum rotted his brain, and turned him into a mindless killing machine. Things truly got out of hand once he found Havel's set and the Mask of the Father...

Right Hand: Chaos Zweihander. The Zweihander is good by itself, but if you add the Chaos enchantment, the damage scales off of how much Humanity you have (up to ten Humanity). At plus five with 10 Humanity, your Zweihander will do 676 total damage. At plus five without any Humanity, you will do 560 total damage.

Left Hand: Any shield that equals or is lesser than 1.0 weight and a Pyromancer Glove (for Great Combustion). They are the only other things you can carry.

Apparel: Mask of the Father and Havel's Armor, Gauntlets, and Leggings. This is a setup that gives you a ton of poise. And it is hilarious.

Rings: Havel's Ring and Darkwood Grain Ring/Wolf Ring. Havel's Ring is absolutely necessary for this build to have the ability to fast roll in our heavy armor, which is the entire point of this build. The Wolf Ring will give you the highest poise available in the entire game. The Darkwood Grain Ring is really fun to use in PvP, people are get so confused at the sight of someone wearing the heaviest armor in the game doing ninja flips.

    Level 120 Stats

    Vitality: 38, Attunement: 10, Endurance: 99, Strength: 16, Dexterity: 10, Intelligence: 8, Faith: 10

The 38 Vitality is the main stat dump after Endurance. 10 Attunement so we can equip Great Combustion. This is a Endurance gouge at heart, so put most of your points there early. But before you do that, make sure you get 16 Strength and 10 Dexterity so we can two hand our Zweihander. Intelligence and Faith are untouched and Resistance isn't even listed.

    Gameplay

This is mainly a PvP build, but it is also good for PvE. In PvP, Great Combustion is a great spell to use, useful for catching people mid roll. The Zweihander has a great moveset and stagger, but it is very slow, so swing it with caution. Your huge poise will allow you to tank through a lot of hits. You will win most trades.

In PvE, your Zweihander is the main damage dealer. Smaller enemies are easily destroyed by your giant sword, and staggering bigger ones is not too much of a problem. Tanking through hits can be viable sometimes in PvE, but since you can fast roll, there isn't much point to tank(unless fighting certain bosses). I completely embarrassed the final boss with this build; I just spammed light attacks and chugged estus through all of his hits.

    The Inspiration

I don't think I understand the uhh backstory to the character but I guess that's something I'll have to figure out by playing the game.

The idea behind it (from what i as a noob can gather) is pretty cool. Just the idea of a Knight in Heavy Armour doing all that rolling and flipping (?) seems like a lot of fun.

I pretty much was inspired by that video I embeded, which is about "Giant Dad" which is the Mask of the Father plus the Giants armor (the Giants armor has the highest Armor Rating in the game). With this I wanted to get the highest poise (amount of hits you can take without staggering) in the game and be able to fast roll (or flip).

I'll watch that when I can then.

    FIRE THE HAVEL CANNON!

people are get so confused at the sight of someone wearing the heaviest armor in the game doing ninja flips.

Actually, nobody will be confused by this. Ninja flipping Havels were the FOTM build once, then Fromsoft nerfed the DWGR. At most people will be surprised that you're still a cartwheeling heavy armor build.

AND DON"T FKING 4GET YUR GRASS CREST SHEILD

The music isn't Bass Cannon? Come on now, that's just bad practice.
