„...they said we better accentuate the positive

    Eliminate the negative

    Latch on to the affirmative

    Don't mess with Mister In-Between

No, don't mess with Mister In-Between”

Travis: „Yeah, tell Mister In-Between to... uuuh... bother someone else! Yeah! That’ll show him! Hey folks, it’s Travis here announcing a very special event organized in partnership with the... heh... good people of Goodneighbor. Joining me live today in discussing all to it is the lovely Nora, local vault dweller and feared Neuromancer among the less welcoming people of the Commonwealth. Welcome to Diamond City Radio, Nora!”

Nora: „Hey Travis, happy to be here!”

Travis: „So Nora, please tell... Is it true you can mind control someone? Or stop bullets in mid air?”

Nora: „Oh... If I’d confirm that, I’d have to kill you. Or maybe lobotomize you by just thinking of it, right?”

    Travis: „You’re such a joker, aren’t you?

    ---*utter crushing silence*

Travis: „Right... uhm... yeah... getting back to the topic at hand, tell our listeners, how does a crime fighting vigilante end up on the radio introducing an event?”

Nora: *chuckles* „I’m glad you asked, Travis! So, I was recently sharing more than a couple shots with Magnolia at the Third Rail in Goodneighbor and I got to tell her about some very interesting people I met in the last months. There’s this girl I encountered, while defending the people of Sanctuary Hills from a raider attack, who’s taken straight out of an old horror tape along with her super-mutant friend (super-friend?!). As frightful as the duo may be, they saved my Russian ass that day and demonstrated that they’re all about helping people. They do however tend to eat their enemies...” *chuckles* „And then there’s this Japanese warrior fully cladded in an impenetrable T60 power armor leading her small army of samurai robots across the Commonwealth, totally annihilating the root of evil wherever they find it.”

Travis: „Wow, Nora! That sounds both frightening and awesome! Do you plan on banding together and forming the New Unstoppables?”

Nora: „Haha! No, that’s something planned for another time. No, where I’m getting at now is that I was telling my drink companion about all these incredible people and their astoundingly awesome tales. See what I did there? And then I paused to just stare at Magnolia who had started taking notes all of a sudden. And I was like, girl, what are you doing? She then proceeded to enlighten me how the stories behind these people would make truly inspiring songs. So we got to talking more and more until we came to the conclusion that the Commonwealth needs to know about all these relevant folks. And knowing Magnolia, she’s going to compose a song for each one of them. And that brings me here today.”

    Travis: „Incredible, tell us more!”

Nora: „Brave citizens of the Commonwealth, the people of Goodneighbor, in strong collaboration with Diamond City Radio, invite you to share your incredible stories with us and become Radio Stars! Let us know of your tales or experiences and we'll come up with an original song inspired by them which will later be regularly played on the radio. Write us or come meet us at the Third Rail and we’ll shake everyone from that seasoned mirelurk hunter in Salem to the stranded Children of Atom in the Glowing Sea. And hey, if it turns out you’re a psycopath in search of an audinece, sending vivid stories about your killings, I’ll track you down myself and put an end to you, permanently. But you WILL get your song played... at your funeral.”

Travis: „You heard her, folks! Start writing or get talking. Our ears are excited to hear what comes out of it. Nora, great to have had you here and we'll talk more when the first song hits!”

Nora: „Thanks for having me, Travis. You take care now, as well as everyone who listens!”

Travis: „Until next time! Now, with Magnolia’s name having been dropped several times I think you’re all eager to listen to her songs. Baby, it’s just you coming next!”

„...Like an earthquake, starting to roll...”

It’s said that video killed the radio star. Be that as it may, nobody seems to mention that radio also happened to have a kid who’s now all grown up and thirsty for vengeance! Welcome everyone to the third Fallout Character Building Event, Radio Stars. As hinted at above, Motty and I want participants to come up with character builds inspired by songs: an anarchist as described by anything Sex Pistols, a serial killer taken out of Nick Cave and The Black Seeds’s Where The Wild Roses Grow or a cowboy as described by the works of Blues Saraceno. The list goes on and on. Open those dusty boxes in the back of your home, pick up your favorite mixtape, start a new Fallout game (3, New Vegas, 4 - your choice) and let your imagination run loose! It's important to mention that the source of inspiration can also be a movie or a game soundtrack.

    Rules and Organizing

    - The event build must be based on a song or movie/game soundtrack. You can post an event build for Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas or Fallout 4;

    - Completed character builds must be posted between the 15-th of July and the 20-th of August. You cannot post a build and continue to work on it in the Fallout Character Building Group. However, you can post a work in progress version of the build in The Workshop group any time you want. Motty and I will make sure we comment with constructive feedback.

    - Completed character builds must be posted with the title "Event Build: (FO3 / FNV / FO4)".

    - Posted event builds must have the tag "Event: Radio Stars" in addition to the game and playstyle ones. You can find more information on the latter two in The Fallout Character Build Archives.

    - The author of every completed and posted event build will also receive a badge on their account related to the event.

    - The posted character build won't require having a level limit. However I strongly advise making sure that the build can do most of what it can from the gameplay point of view in the first 20 - 25 levels.

    List of Completed Builds

Ragin Cajun: Billy O'Conner, The Veteran (Blue Oyster Cult - Veteran of the Psychic Wars)

The War Pig (Black Sabbath - War Pigs)

Mottyskills: The Warden (Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues)

Chris D: The Mad Dog (Receive You-The SubType)

Daryl Sawatzky:  (I wanna be) Anne Archay - (Anarchy in the UK by the Sex Pistols)

Redneck Samurai - (A Shogun Named Marcus by Clutch)

HOYT: Fun Ghoul (FO4) (My Chemical Romance - "Na Na Na")

No worries, John. Family's the most important! But there's so much more time left until the end of August.

Nice tune, Motty! :D Sadly, my cowgirl didn't end up as I envisioned it so I dropped it. But the Cyberpunk is THE BOMB! I'll see if I can have it ready in time for the end of the event.

You'll have to be more specific in your question. I don't understand what you mean.

Like what songs are aloud? Like do they have to be from actual bands or can they be YouTube songs/parody's

Fantastic idea guys, what a cool concept to build around. First entrant Motty, who shot a man in Reno just to watch him die, sets the bar with Johnny Cash and demonstrates just how awesome this idea is :D
