Hello there wastelanders, Delta and Flamez here with a brand new part of the Hub! Recently, I started working on a new build based on Vault-Tec and rebuilding the world with the help of the Institute. So, I started working on a small settlement in Sanctuary Hills that will first serve as an outpost and later it will grow into a full city. (Take that Green "Jewel")

As I finished my outpost, an idea came to mind. I wanted to share my humble beggining in northern Commonwealth so I decided to snap a picture and give you a little tour of the place. That idea then grew into this topic, where you can give us your tours of your small or big settlements. Your tour can be as simple or complicated as you like to, but do try to explain the important parts if someone wants to maybe build your settlement in their own game. I think it would be best if I started first, so here it is:

    Outpost Sanctuary

So, the outpost starts at the North Bridge as you come upon a gate with two turrets watching the other river bank. As you come inside, you can see junk walls on both sides. To cover up the holes made because of how poorly Bethesda designed wall placement, we'll use steel wall pieces normaly used to cover up holes in the balconies you usually put on your house. You can't see the holes anymore and the wall looks much better.

On the right we come upon the Settler Residence. Inside, we'll place some beds and leave the campfire in the parking sppace for RP purposes. We'll also place some cabinets or lockers and a table and a few chairs. Behind the settler house is a small garden. The garden doesn't have to be to big as only a few settlers will be here. I'll go with Preston's group for the reqiurements of my build. At the garden is also the first collapsed house you see as you cross the bridge. This house will remain unscrapped as we are using it as a wall.

To the left of the entrance is the Player Home. I'we built it on two stories and a balcony. I transfered all the crafting and modding benches inside. Outside the house is the generator with lines going inside the house. Simple light bulbs will be enough to light the place up. Get a dog house and a few beds. I higly reccomend downloading the OCDecorator mod and decorate (duh) the place. It can look really awesome with an area dedicated to weapons and armor and some personal space.

North of the Player Home is a second gate leading to the rest of Sanctuary Hills into which the Outpost will expand later in my build. I showed you every part of the Outpost built so far. I hope you've enjoyed the little tour of the place and I'm looking forward to seeing your settlements. Until next time. :)

Let's get this ball rolling. Similar to what Delta has done, I only started my build in Sanctuary as a smaller outpost sort of thing to house the named npcs that come with Preston. I've placed so many objects that when I look at certain parts of sanctuary my cpu cries :(

Since it's probably hard to spot unless you know it's there, I've stuck a bunch of red arrows which point to the junk wall I placed around the initial settlement. Also you might be able to make out the street lights which I have placed along with road, which were mainly to make it hard for raiders to sneek up to the wall. Much easier to make out are the six houses that I've built outside of the wall as part of the expansion, so far they are completely empty and mostly without power. Each of the pre-existing houses within the wall, have had their roofs and walls patched so that the settlers don't get soaked every time it rains, or shot by a raider who happens to be looking through one of the walls. Once I can make the strongest verson of the water purifiers, there will be a couple of those placed next to the bridge with a wall around them to protect from raiders.

    The view from the bridge.

Three of the empty houses surrounding the rusted playground, two of which are multi-story. The two on the left also happen to be staggers to better fit on the slope.

The only gate into the original settlement with its turrests and guards. On the right side of the image you can just seen the top of my robot workbench which prior to me building the house you can see the corner of, was completely unprotected by the wall; so good luck to anyone using when raiders attack.

Here you can see the start of the outer wall, which faces towards Vault 111. Eventually this wall will span the entire settlement and there will be a guard specifically for that post, instead of Preston who wanders between a couple of them.

Here you can see the Workshop house, which I have built a mutifruit farm on top of along with a windmill (and medium sized generater that I have sunk into the roof) which powers to settlement. To the left of the house is a water purifier which I glitched onto land. If I remember correct this house has beds for Sturges and Mama Murphy, also a dog house which Dogmeat refuses to use.

And just three of the houses which I've built outside the inner wall. The first one I nicked from a youtube video that showed up in my recommended videos. One of them will probably end up being my character's home, but I've yet to decide which since I like them all quite a bit. I've just noticed that I need to move the concrete piller on the third house so that it isn't clipping through the side of the roof... whoops, I'll do that later.

Nice presentation there GF! I like how the new builds look like they 'belong'. That's a tough thing to accomplish.

I have a character I use only to build....maybe I'll see about getting a tour of my Spectacle Island compound soon.

Thanks Motty. You should and I'll be looking forward to it :D

I've done some more building since my first reply. Since then I've built another house on the blank foundation you can see at the end of the road in the first picture of my other post. Of the three houses I was torn between I ended up choosing the 3rd one as my character's house, since to me it feels sort of hidden away which is nice for my character since she is both the General of the Minutemen and a member of the Railroad. I'll grab pictures of the decoration at some point, but for now I forgot...

I've also built Sanctuary's main gate:

There will eventually be two guards inside the bus, but first I'll need to find another settler. Inside the bus there are a sleeping bag for both guards and a stove for them to prepare food with; you can just see part of it sticking out the back of the bus.On the side of the bus I've placed purple lights that spell out "Sanctuary" but I'm not sure if I'll keep them.

Also I finished building a house for the couple at Tenpines Bluff following an attack by the Mechanist, only to turn around and realise that one of the settlers had died.

I'm back with the screenshots of my character's house :D

The view from the front door.

    From the opposite corner.

    The Toilet.

The second floor with the character's bedroom and office which can be seperated by the curtain when needed. And at the top of the stairs the armoury, which you need when you're the General of the Minutemen/Railroad Heavy.

During Amor's most recent stream he suggested that I build a church or church-like building, so I did just that near the back of Sanctuary:

Nice tour Goldie. I would advise that you get the OC Decorator mod to fill up those empty shelves with static objects. I made a little corner in my house with a weapon and ammunition workbench (added by another amazing mod) put a few shelves there and put static ammo boxes. It requires one round to put down a ammo box. You'll need to go into workshop mode to get the ammo back tough. It looks amazing. Really immersive. Just need to add a weapon rack to complete the weapons room.

Oh, I have that mod I'm just too lazy to decorate to that degree right now. Once I have the structures, the basic decorating in the other buildings and any misc things I'll probably start on that in my character's house at leat. I'm also planning to fill those empty shelves with items related to various quests as I complete them. Looking at the screenshots now, I realise that I forgot to place the clean pillow I nicked from vault 81 on my character's bed.

Something I forgot to mention when I was describing the second floor is that infront of one of the windows is a lantern; which you can see in the first image of that floor, which acts as a signal similar to the one Old Man Stockton lights during the quest "Boston After Dark".

Edit: And before I forgot, have you started on the expansion for your Sanctuary? Oh and I wouldn't mind seeing a screenshot of that weapons corner which sounds pretty nice :D

Well then, I apologise for describing the features. :P Well, I'm first trying to establish other outposts. I'm also deep on RP with the build. Also, changed the build into the Lone Wanderer that came into the Commonwealth. I even tried my best to copy the face, a bit older obviously, from my FO3 character and his SPECIAL stats. Am I a nerd for remembering those? :) I'll be sure to post those screenshots as early as possible.

Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been around much; I'm a bit busy as seems I've once again gotten in over my head in relation to creating, being the case at most times. Especially apologies to Delta for not helping out quite as much as I'd have liked over the last couple months. Anyways enough excuses, onto the constructive criticism!...That was a really bad pun, and there's actually nothing to cricticize but I had to :P

So I really like all of these! Really liked the idea of having that Sanctuary lettering on the side of the bus actually Goldie; it looks like a nice feature. Maybe it's the color throwing you off? I find that sometimes those types of things will do that, maybe try a blue, orange, or maybe even a lighter purple color (assuming the mod has all these). The Church is amazing as Amo pointed out so props to that.

If you don't mind me asking, are you planning to build any strict militarized bits to Sanctuary, or is it literally just for the starting settlers (for the most part)? If you end up making a military settlement a decent place might be somewhere like the Airport maybe, or Spectacle island. Open ended warehouses coul fill up a lot of that space if you want ideas
