Having only played a little of Far Harbor and having met the Synth from the trailer I can already say that this DLC has some great material for synth roleplayers. Also anything I add to this will involve heavy spoilers.

I've yet to have the pleasure of storming Acadia, so I can't say for sure. The wiki claims that she doesn't drop a synth component when she dies. So until I check for myself, I'm going to say no.
The way my characters have always looked at it, is that it doesn't matter what she is. What matters is what she wants to do. What I mean is that Gen 3 synths have gotten to the point that you can't tell the difference. So does it really matter if she's a Synth?
Now I'm just wondering how the conversation with her parents would go. "I found your daughter. Then I killed her when I destroyed the Synth sanctuary. Can I be paid now?"
