Workshop Event: Four in Four

  • November 1, 2017

HEY-OH, welcome, welcome to the November Workshop Event, where we'll be getting up to some crazy shenanigans. The basic idea for the Event is that there are four different themes. So for anyone that's played any CB Events, it's pretty much the same sort of thing, only cooler because we'll be focusing on 4 different builds. They'll all be Mini Builds, and must be under Level 20, and the second 'twist' is that we'll be working together in teams of 2-4 for each build. You don't have to have the same team throughout the Event, you could start off working with 3 people you know really well (or 1, 2) and then the next theme you work with 3 completely different people, maybe because you've seen their build for the previous theme and wanted to pair up with some of the people who made that, or maybe just because you want to try new things. Of course, you can also create a Super-Team and make four builds with the same group.

So go wild, and welcome to

    The Four in Four Event

    Theme One:

The first theme is going to be Ayelids, arguably one of the most successful Elven Races that managed to create the very first Empire in Tamriel, stretching across an unknown amount of time and having dominion over Cyrodiil. Traditionally, they were some of the most skilled magic users in the world and created the very art of Alteration, and had an almost unhealthy obsession with the sky and starlight. Now you don't have to make your build an actual Ayelid, it could be but here are just a list of suggestions that you might want to work with.

Ayelidic Scholar - Perhaps the character you and your team-mates build can be someone who has dedicated their lives to hunting down Ayelidic Artifacts, or even discovering more about a Race that has been extinct for thousands of years.

Ayelid-Hating Man - Maybe a somewhat common theme (men hating elves) but the early Nords and Imperials both have their fair share of hatred towards the Ayelids, and a character based around that is very possible.

An Ancient Ayelid - An Ayelid that has survived for thousands of years only to come out now to do something? Seems like a character that will almost write itself to me, but you've got a lot of angles. Maybe a Lich-like creature, a Vampire or maybe even work in that tidbit about Alteration that I mentioned earlier

I'd also heavily recommend looking into Beyond Skyrim: Bruma for this series, it's one of the only mods that I can think of that adds Ayelid Ruins to the world, and there's some pretty cool stuff that could be worked in there (including Ayelid Artifacts). PS4 players kind of suffer there, but hey blame Sony.

Rules: All Event builds will need the Four in Four tag and the Theme One: Ayelids tag as well. They must also be titled Event Mini-Build: [Insert Build Name Here]

    Theme Two:

The second theme is going to be Ressurection. This is based on an old CB Event, and is based around the idea of bringing a dead character from either TES or Fallout History into a modern game, for example, someone like Gaiden Shinji from ES or Caesar from Fallout New Vegas (assuming he is dead...) or really any of the other hundreds of characters in Lore. With Fallout, you can even work in some real historical figures. I won't list any recommendations like I did with the Ayelids because there are hundreds, if not thousands of different characters to work with, so go absolutely crazy here.

Rules: All Event builds will need the Four in Four tag, and the Theme Two: Ressurection tag as well. They also must be titled Event Mini-Build: [Insert Build Name Here]

    Theme Three:

The third, and final 'full theme' is going to be Factions, where we'll be focusing on any faction that doesn't appear in either Fallout 4 or Skyrim. There are a few times you can skirt around this, mostly with Fallout 4 and the fact that the Brotherhood of Steel is completely different in each game and might as well be different factions, but for the most part, it's a fairly substantial rule. Like with the Ayelids, there are different ways you can cover a Faction, maybe your just a member, maybe your the last member or maybe your someone seeking to completely destroy it.

All event builds will need the Four in Four Tag, and the Theme Three: Factions tag as well. They also must be titled Event Mini-Build: [Insert Build Name Here]

    Theme Four

The final theme, is a bit of a misnomer really, because the idea for the final theme is 'Missed Opportunites' which basically just meant that you could re-do any of the previous themes, or really any Event that's been done in the past that you might've missed. I believe that all previous Skyrim or Fallot Events can be found in the Fallout CB Archives and Skyrim CB Archives so check them out for some interesting ideas.

All event builds will need the Four in Four Tag, and the Theme Four: Misser Opportunities tag as well. They also must be titled Event Mini-Build: [Insert Build Name Here]

I'll be uploading the Week Three and Week Four Events later on after the current two themes are finished. For now, I'll tease them a little, the third week will be a poll based theme (as in, you guys can pick it) and the fourth week will be a Faction for both Fallout and Skyrim.

If you are aiming to participate, either drop a comment mentioning what you can personally do or your team (with a fancy team name :P). For example, if you only wanted to join in work on the Artwork or Backstory for a build, you can just sign up for those jobs by mentioning it, and then people who need someone who can do that sort of thing can offer to team up with you.

Man, I've been having some issues with the Ayelid Theme, kinda weird since I've thought of running an Ayelid Event for awhile now... I know that I want to work it in with Beyond Skyrim: Bruma, and maybe even focus on using the Flamelight Spire item added in the mod which sends out a pulse of Light that is doubly effective against Undead, maybe pair that with the Ayelid Lich Helmet and Elven Armour. Throw in Alteration and that's all set really.

Yeah, that sounds like a decent concept at least, plus it can be altered for Vanilla use fairly easily.

Race: Unplanned (would like to use Imperious - Races of Skyrim)

Standing Stone: Unplanned (would like to use Aurora - Standing Stones of Skyrim)

Skills: Light Armour, Alteration, One-Handed (Ayelid Sword)...uhh maybe Enchanting (would like to use Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim)

    Stats: Unplanned

That's really all I've got for a starting point, also wouldn't mind creating a Cyrodiil based Blades Member either, really interesting gear that can be incorporated in because of Beyond Skyrim: Bruma, and just as capable of functioning without it.

So yeah, if anyone would want to pair with either idea I'd be happy to run as a playtester while others can focus on the Backstory and Character stuff. I'm also totally happy to help anyone out with planning/artwork based positions and anything related to talking about Gameplay.

Question. Can I just do this by myself?

Well, are you going to be an Ayleid or get inspired by an Ayleid? If you are going to actually be an Ayleid, Altmer is a fair choice. You'll get the boost to magicka that you'd need for a magic build (probably if you pick your stones right, you won't even need to level magicka), and they have actually nice reach with one-handed weapons.

Plays a bit like my Auroran, though I swap Alteration for destruction.

And Deebs, you poo. Couldn't you have waited on the Ayleid week for me to be done with Darloc Brae and Ash? Because I had a great Ayleid idea, but I'm too busy working on Darloc and Ash, which will both be done, but on the wire literally. *shakes fist at Deebs then Orc smacks him* Because you know I would do my one skill wonders for this event, it's perfect for it. But you poo and put Ayleids in the first week. GRRRRRR! And besides, no one will partner with me cause I such a biatch to work with.

Lol, only the Lorc is that stupid! HAHAHAHA. Or he had death wish and shit like that. Or, he's a masochist. Teineeva may be one too, but I've not really collaborated with him, just the Lorc. Only the Lorc can handle my brand of cray cray.

Hey Costner. I'd be up for a coop build for the second week.

Ah, well, you could but not as an official Event Build, part of the Event is working together with people but if you wanted to just work by yourself, you could post an unofficial entry.

EDIT: Just noticed that Delta's offered to work with you, definitely interested in what you two put together, Fallout build I'm guessing?
