Does anyone know or have some information on what lies beyond Aetherius? Are there other galaxies and such or are we alone in the TES universe?

Someone fuel my ship with sload farts, because I'm about to go on a journey beyond the cosmos.

In other words, I'll take up your commission, Delta.

Nocturnal governs theives' luck, but does "thief" ony mean a person who tresspasses in a location and steals a material item owned by someone else? What about an adventurer who steals from a locked dungeon chest? A vampire who sneaks into a home to feed (steal blood/life)? Since her wider sphere is "mystery", would she also bless someone who picked the lock on a noble's chest full of valuables just to say "I picked the lock on a noble's chest of valuables" (I can imagine the noble would be left scratching his head since the lock was picked but nothing was taken)?

I believe she only protects real thieves. There is a difference between a someone who steals an apple and people yell thief and between someone who is a real thief, someone who you can call a profesional, that has thieving as a full time job. That is why she has worshipers among the Thieves Guild. These guys are profesionals. You cant enter the Thieves Guild because you stole a locket or something shiny. You have to show skill and devotion.

To offer a different perspective than that which Foxy has provided, Mitch, I think your interpretation is in line with how I go about it. It requires us to shift focus away from how the gods and demons are portrayed, instead seeing them on an emotional and intuitive level. As a mystery goddess, I think your idea is sound: To break in, pick a lock, yet steal nothing leaves a huge question mark for the person waking to find a unlocked chest. Nocturnal is her sphere, not a representative of it. That means darkness, mystery, night, shadows... That uneasy feeling when the power is cut... These things are who she is. The sneaky vampire or quiet adventure sticking to the shadows as he picks his way through a tomb are in tune with Nocturnal in those moments. Also, sounds as though this is for a character project, which makes interpretation especially important. What your character thinks, believes, interprets need no justification. If he or she feels aligned to Nocturnal at the that time, then that is without a doubt what is happening.

Please forgive if I’ve missed the answer to this somewhere. I’ve tried to find it in the archives but may just not be looking in the right place. My question is this: given the Thalmor’s belief (MK post, I think) that Mundus is a prison and they need to escape it to “regain the mantle of the imperishable spirit,” does Alduin’s return hasten their plans or sharply curtail them? The idea of a new kalpa isn’t fully understood by most people in game, I think. And me, of course. I’m rambling, but I think my question is does the Thalmor’s goal (in their perspective) need to be met before the kalpa is ended and reborn, or is there evidence that a new kalpa would fix their problem, reset everything to before they were consigned to this plane?

I’ve also found an MK quote that says this: “Assume The Dawn Era was the End of the Previous Kalpa. The new Kalpa begins with the first day of the Merethic Era."

That would seem to imply that the kalpa doesn’t reset back to creation, but when the new kalpa starts, Mundus is already created. It sounds like that particular spot is a fixed point in time, and what was done before that point cannot be undone.

And if this is the case, also, is this evidence (if the Thalmor understood kalpa like MK does) that the Thalmor are wrong about what they believe and what they want is impossible?

Ok, I am a bit confused about this, (been awhile since I've been in the Lore Group) but is it possible to ask questions here? If not where would one ask? I sort of understand the Expeditions and Comissions but yeah. Anyway, since I won't be on for long I'll ask my question, if it doesn't go here, tell me or tell me if there is something else (stupid question, etc etc.) A while ago I became interested in Greater Nocturnals, namely Jaciel Morgen. What do we know about her? I know that she was in Battlespire and that someone close to her died, (I am a bit sketchy on the details but I know the events briefly). Also, Daedra and Greater Nocturnals are the sameish right? My other question is are Daedra/Greater Nocturnals affected by aging/Time? Also two words come to mind now, Darkling Mana. Does it sound familiar? I remember it was a part of a build but does it have Anyang to do with Greater Nocturnals?

I think that UESP will hook you up the best here.

    Nocturnals

    Jaciel Morgen

Greater Nocturnals are Daedra, Daedra don't age. And Darkling Mana is something specific for Shade Perilous and yes, it was in a build, me and Kael did a build about Jaciel.  The Shade Mistress

Ok, this topic really isn't that easy and I highly doubt someone could find enough sources to back their claims or would make it into an article. It's more about interpretations here and crazy theories, so how about this? Post this question as completely new discussion and we'll have a long mind-fucking chat about it? :D

@karver, seriously? Ooh, cool. I didn’t think about posting my own topic so soon. I was almost afraid someone would be like “dude, she didn’t know that? Lol, lame.” Sweet, though, I will. Thanks!

Ah yes, now I remember, that build. I just couldn't think of the name. Thanks Karver.
