    Orc Clans

Northern Tamriel has been home to Orcs since the Dawn Era and there have been many clans, both big and small, with each clan being slightly different. In Skyrim, we saw four Orc clans which were pretty much similar to each other, but ESO presented us with some new evidence that clans were not always the same, some of them even specializing in various crafts, giving them a certain unique feel. I believe that not every Orc needs to be the same, each and every one of them has a different origin, with a certain set of skills. So this list should wet everyone´s appetite for the manty roleplaying posibilities when it comes to Orcs.

    Wrothgar Clans

Clan Shatul - A clan of nomadic Orcs, herders of echatere. Their stronghold wasn’t exactly a stronghold as we know them, but more like a movable camp of longhouses made of wood and leather, for ease in packing.

Clan Morkul - This clan specialized in smithing. They were one of the most famous smiths of the Wrothgar who used the Morkuldine Forge to craft powerful weapons and armor by using blood of their victims, utilising some form of blood magic to imbue the metal with power.

Clan Tunmosh - Stronghold Tunmosh has been sitting on top of a Graystone Quarry for a very long time. These Orc were excellent miners and stone masons.

Clan Fharun - This clan held an ancient fortress with complex dungeons made by Bretons right underneath it. It was a home to archivists who protected a sacred scroll that supposedly contained the words of Malacath himself.

Clan Agluk - This clan was nearly destroyed during the fall of First Orsinium and its descendants have sworn to exact vengeance on the Bretons for what they did in the past.

Clan Bragosh, the Hammer Clan - To my left, Clan Bragosh serves as our shield, protecting us from sights unseen. Known for their smithing skills, this clan created specialized armor and weapons and was known as a trader of goods and supplies. Evidence suggests the clan was eventually absorbed by the Morkul clan.

Clan Pandrum, the Fire Clan - A clan rumored to be filled with primitive healers and shamans.  Supposedly, they controlled fire, using it as both a weapon and a tool to take care of a variety of tasks. They seem to have disappeared from history after the second siege of Orsinium.

Clan Enclave, the Star Clan - Not much is known about this mysterious clan, other than they provided aid to other clans for their own purposes. Rumors persist that the clan still exists somewhere deep in the Wrothgar wilderness.

Clan Luccin, the Wolf Clan - To my right, Clan Luccin fights with ferocity and keeps our enemy at bay. This clan was known for conducting effective and terrorizing raids during the night. They were adept at moving through darkness and often took their enemies completely by surprise. Some believe that the clan was eventually absorbed by the Shatul clan.

Clan Murtag, the Rock Clan - One of the oldest clans still in existence to the current day, this clan makes its home in the mountains of Wrothgar, carving dwellings deep within the very rock itself.

Clan Ruskahr, the Owl Clan - And above, Clan Ruskahr guards the hills, bows at the ready. A clan of highly skilled archers, they were known for their impressive tracking and hunting skills. They revered owls of all types, but especially the snow owl.

Clan Marag - This clan settled in supposedly haunted Frostbreak Fortress. They had Frostbreak Chalice in their possession, with chiefs of the clan claiming that everything drunk from the Chalice had restorative powers.

    Other Clans

Betnikh Clan, the Seamount Clan - These Orcs originally inhabited the island of Betony, named Betnikh back in Second Era.

Drublog Clan - A clan of Wood Orcs from Malabal Tor where they had an enormous stronghold housing several dozen Orcs. They mostly lived peacefully with their Bosmer neighbors.

Lhurgush Clan - A clan of nomadic Wood Orcs mostly inhabiting Greenshade

    Skyrim Clans

Clan Largash - Located in the southern Rift with the stronghold´s back leaning against the foot of the Jeralls. Largash always seemed like the most religious of Skyrim´s strongholds, with one of their duties being the safeguarding of Malacath´s shrine in Fallowstone Cave.

Clan Narzul - Narzulbur stronghold is located southeast of Windhelm, sitting at the foot of Velothi Mountains. While all the other strongholds in Skyrim have orichalcum mines, Narzulbur is home to an extensive ebony mine.  This implies that they seem to be capable smiths, being able to work with Ebony. It´s interesting that there aren’t more Orcs wearing Ebony equipment, hmm?

Clan Dushnik - A clan of Orcs situated deep in the Reach. Dushnikh Yal is certainly the largest stronghold in Skyrim, and apparently the most prosperous. They supply Hogni Red-Arm with meat, so it seems these Orcs are very good hunters and traders. It wouldn´t be surprising if they also sold furs and maybe even some herbs.

Clan Khazgur - Mor Khazgur is located in the northwestern mountains of Skyrim, west of Solitude. They seem quite reclusive and I could never shake off the feeling that these Orcs are the fighters. You can always hear comments about how their chief is strong and such, so maybe that´s an indication of the clan´s prowess.

So that´s it, pretty much all the important Clans of Orcs featured in the Elder Scrolls. I´m not mentioning Orsinium for a reason, because Orsinium always has been a home to multiple clans.

Coincidentally, I've just started taking a greater interest in Orcs, so this perfect for me!

I did notice, though, that the Malahk Orcs aren't listed. They're mentioned in the Interview with a Dark Elf, under the third question. I haven't seen/heard of them anywhere else though, so I'm not sure if they're notable enough to be here.

I´ve read that Interview before posting this and I don´t think that Malahk-Orc is mean as a clan, but as a belief. The guy compares them to Orsinium of that time, which were Trinimac worshippers. So I do believe that they way this guy meant it, Malahk-Orc is an Orc following Malacath.

Excellent hooks for RP and CB here Karves, a great tool to flesh out an Orc character's backstory. The clans seem so different and each has their own microculture to make them all unique. There is a lot of depth here and so much potential for various projects.

Hmm, that does make more sense, now that you mention it. I suppose I've just considered them to have always worshipped Malacath, so I overlooked the fact that most would have worshiped Trinimac at the time. Guess it's time to brush up on my Orcish lore a bit.

Hello Guys, great bit of writing very informative I didn't know there was so many. Do you know where Masons Mauloch came from? I just assumed he conjured him from his imagination but after reading this I thought I would ask.

Mauloch is another name for Malacath. The difference is that while Malacath is Daedric Prince many Orcs say that Mauloch is Orc King/Father becoming god, not related to Malacath. As for Mason's build, yeah, he did pull that out of his arse.
