A Kiss, Sweet Night Mother

  • March 9, 2016
I think I read it too somewhere. But what makes you think it was Morag Tong who killed Night Mother? It rings a bell to me, I know I read about it somewhere, but can't really place it right now.

Like I said, I can't remember the specifics.

I think the Morag Tong killed her because her guild were "competition". That or they were trying to remove a thorn in their side.

You know I really don't like to throw all the fruits in the same basket)))

To be honest, I think that it was somehow like this. Initially MT had a Night Mother as their leader and they worshipped Mephala. It's quite possible that they indeed saw the Night Mother as an avatar of Mephala. But then that Night Mother, let's say she changed her worldview, or just went insane, she started worshipping Sithis and the whole babies killing deal took place (because, well, Sithis doesn't have to be a real god for someone to worship him) and the MT wanted to kill her (maybe they thought she wasn't a proper avatar of Mephala anymore?). And that's why they want to destroy her Brotherhood.

As for Sithis not being a god... who knows? Are you sure he isn't?

    Well, how about this.

What if...Vivec is behind the creation of Dark Brotherhood? What if he didn´t usurp Mephala´s place as patron of Morag Tong, but instead he created his own faction. What if Vivec is actually acting as Sithis?

And then Vivec withdrew into the hidden places and found the darkest mothers of the Morag Tong, taking them all to wife and filling them with undusted loyalty that tasted of summer salt. They became as black queens, screaming live with a hundred murderous sons, a thousand murderous arms, and a hundred thousand murderous hands, one vast moving event of thrusting-kill-laughter in alleys, palaces, workshops, cities and secret halls. Their movements among the holdings of the Ra'athim were as rippled endings, heaving between times, with all fates leading to swallowed knives, murder as moaning, God's holy rape-erasure of wet death.

The duality of Vivec. (He) Vehk as Dread Father, (She)Vehk as Night Mother. Combination of a Cyrodiilic corpse and a nebulous Void-spirit.

    Phil sends his regards

This looks possible. Although the Night Mother whose corpse we see in Skyrim is obviously not Vivec.

Lol)) Why Phil doesn't say it himself?))

So all this time the DB are worshiping a (literally) dead god*!?

*Depends whether or not Vivec still lives.

P.S. Phil now sends Orcs to do his lore-work?

Hehe, Phil went into bed and before that he just dropped this Lore bomb on me.

As far as the corpse goes I don't have definite answer. But we never saw the corpse talk, didn't we? Just a voice in head.

And Vivec doesn't have to be dead.

Even if he is alive he is not a god anymore. So there's no way he makes the corpse talk)

Don´t forget Vivec has achieved CHIM. Btw, I´m really not in good position to argue with you, I´m just trying to wrap my head around the Sermons - which is where this comes from.

If he can´t make the corpse talk, what if he created the Night Mother spectre? What if it´s just aspect of him, independent of him? It´s probably stupid and crazy, but still...what if?

Wait a minute.... What if the Night Mother actually died during the Bravil riot (her aspect/ghost... what ever you wanna call it.) and that the "Night Mother" the Last Dragonborn is hearing is actually a voice in his/her head.

But hey, that's just my thought.
