Ah but remember there is a precedent: Alduin is real and He Ent Akatosh. Up until TES V we thought Alduin was just the Nordic version of Akatosh, albeit a lot more apocalyptic version (again, mythopoeia).
Then we played Skyrim and realised that Alduin wasn't Akatosh at all but a mean old dragon who wants to eat everything but decided lording over everyone was more fun. So we were like, "Alduin and Akatosh aren't the same. Who knew?"
Then we did some digging and put some pieces of the puzzle together: Dragon's don't breed so how come Alduin calls himself "firstborn of Akatosh"? Then we realised that is probably a metaphor, that our mortal brains can interpret that better than the idea that Alduin is just a massive shard of the Akatosh glass.
Then we were like, "ok, so Alduin is Akatosh but he isn't? That's cool. What if he is like the end of time aspect of Akatosh?" So there it is. In TES you can be one and the same yet so totally different as to actually be something else entirely.

Lore collab, Phil?
Well, I can´t help myself but see Malacath like something different then other Daedric Princes. I mean, they do not consider him Daedric Prince, he´s an outcast to them. But why is that, I ask? Because it´s his "aspect"?
Or maybe it´s because Trinimac, Hero-God, et´Eda, Champion of Auriel, original ancestor, child of Anui-El changed into Daedric Prince, suddenly being Sithian being of change? And more importantly, he became that much later than other Daedric Prince.

See that's where it gets well deep. We discussed before about the spokes on the wheel and how important they are and we also touched upon the subject of how important the gaps between those spokes were too to the structure of the wheel. This led us to talking about how the spokes and gaps must be filled by something, yet who fills those roles maybe doesn't matter too much
So if an Aedra can become a Daedra, or a wayward solar daughter can become a Daedra, it tells us our most common concept of what a Daedra is must be completely wrong.
As Lissette said nothing is static. So if we just assume for a moment that the Psijics are right in their version of how things work, then mythopoeia is just the switching of roles through time and worship. Given enough time and enough believers of a story involving the goddess of love getting her heart broken, Mara could conceivably become Malacath - that is to say take his place in that slot of the wheel. When that happens the Mara spoke becomes vacant. Maybe Trinimac steps up to take that place? That really would be an interesting storyline arc for that particular character.

Yeah for serial!
To be honest there's some basic truth there: It's how we are seen in the eyes of others. If you become associated with something strongly enough then that is what you will be remembered for regardless of the actual facts.
When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.

I think we discussed that on the Gortwog thread. I think Thorien said it best, though:
More probably he'd be somehing yet other, not the Trinimac of the past, but wholly new version of himself. Like a person who has overcome his trauma rather than one who never experienced it.
I don't necessarily agree with how she has arrived at that conclusion but I think the end result is accurate. The Trinimac of old was coloured by the culture and beliefs his of his time.
That culture has long gone so the old Trinny is unlikely to still exist as he did. If Trinimac could again be coaxed from the dung of Malacth he would be coloured by the cultural views of his modern worshippers.
It's fun to think of what that version would be like.
