Pseudo-Lore: The Towers and Tower Stones

It was never confirmed whether it was the Falinesti or not

People assume Greensap has been deactivated since Valenwood has been under control of the Thalmor for the better part of two centuries.

We know Red, Crystal-Like-Law, and White-Gold are destroyed or deactivated.

We think Snow-Throat, Green-Sap, and Walk-Brass are destroyed or deactivated, but we don't know.

Adamantine isn't. Orichalc and Green-Sap know one really knows what they are or their stones, or if they're even active or not.

I did hear that there is another Tower formed by the Moons or the Lunar Lattice and the Khajiit are the Stone, and the Void Nights were caused by the Thalmor attempting to deactivate it.

I subscribe to the theory that the Orichalc Tower was destroyed by the Redguards in an attempt to ascend to the Far Shore. Partly due to the cool factor.

That seems to be the most popular idea.

I have a couple of questions regarding this. First of all, if all of the towers with the exceptions of Adamantine and Red were created by the Aldmer, then doesn't that mean that they built the  Throat of the World? The only other conclusion I can draw is that the Snow Throat Tower is not the Throat of the World. Secondly, if destroying all the towers would essentially be a free ticket to Elven heaven, then wouldn't the Aldmer have been more interested in destroying the existing towers instead of creating new ones? I'm not really a lore buff so there may be something I'm missing here.

I think the Aldmer built Crystal-Like-Law and White Gold as a means of control, like mythopoeia personified. I'm not sure it's a form of fast track to heaven, more like another means of preserving what was lost - which to the elves is a big deal because everything was better in the past, apparently.

I think the Towers are metaphor's for plot points. When a Tower "falls" it has a mythopoeic impact on the aurbis.

As for Snow Throat, I think there is something we're missing. It's tied up with the plot of Skyrim and the prophecy links it to the Civil War, but what the stone actually is is still nebulous to me.

Makes sense. Thanks for the reply.

Or whatever source that states Aldmer built every tower but Adamantine and Red is wrong.

That's also a possible conclusion, but Vix seemed to state pretty definitely in this article that the non-Adamantine/Red Towers were built by the Aldmer, so given his knowledge of Elder Scrolls lore, I'm assuming he's right.

    What a conundrum. I'm saying he's wrong.

I don't think it's that hard of a  conclusion to come to. So let's put aside notions of perceived authority and let's think this through.
