i found this In Cyrodiil, a few Necromancers who have served the Empire are given the corpses of criminals and traitors to use legally. This provides those who have acquired such a post with a fresh supply of corpses, most of them young, strong, and intact.

this could be the start of the College maybe.

Alright I have a rather obscure question which might not actually have an answer; so I hope some of you lore folks will step up to the challenge because I am intrigued as to what this means:

    Book at: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Vampires_of_the_Iliac_Bay

In Daggerfall there is a book called “Vampires of the Iliac Bay”. In this particular book a fellow describes his involvement with vampires and his escape from them. However his reason for leaving the undead is as follow “It was then I started to become frightened at last. They, and all of their rival clans, were draining the blood ofTamriel itself. ”.

My question is what this phrase means: “The blood of Tamriel itself”. What are the Vampires of Iliac Bay doing exactly? Does anyone know? Or does anyone have any theories.

Any and all answers however specific or not will be helpful!

Puzzling, Blue. An interesting find. I have not played Daggerfall, although I have read that book and can honestly say that sentence never caught my attention. All I can offfer is conjecture. The Daggerfall article on Montalion mentions "Death is not always eternal. For some it is merely a time of waiting. Now is your time of waiting. Be patient and all will be revealed."

I am kind of tempted to extrapolate upon that when we add your sentence to the mix:  "If asked, he would tell me about the Montalion's newest alliances, who they were manipulating, who they were stalking. It was then I started to become frightened at last. They, and all of their rival clans, were draining the blood of Tamriel itself."

Could be that "draining the blood of Tamriel itself" is a metaphor for the power games and influence these clans are involved in. Like, you know how we might say that oil is the lifeblood of the economy? If their influence was growing and they were cornering specific markets, that might be one interpretation.

Amother would be more literal, that by gaining influence and getting new members of the clan, each one with a hunger, then very literaly they are draining Tamriel's blood.

Both, neither, or something else... It seems open to interpretaion to me, a gold mine of potential fun :)

I would interpret it a similiar way Paws did.

I believe it to mean something among the lines of "they are running over Tamriel".

Kinda the same way people say a "buisness goes down the drain" when its doing bad

Brilliant, thanks Paws and Vezrabuto, I was sort of hoping that these vampires were secretly leading some world-shaking conspiracy against all living things, a little like Harkon, but on a much larger scale. It's because I'm writing a blog atm about a vampire from The Iliac bay, and I need something so terrible he would want to flee. Guess it all comes down to court politics in the end, which I love regardless, but maybe I can use this to write a little doomsday into it all :D

So, is Reymon Ebonarm still canon, or has he been retconned?

Retconned. Apparently, when the Warp in the West happen and Talos/Tiber Sepium/Wulharth thing happened Ebonarm disappeared. There is a video on Youtube, that explains it pretty good if you would liek to watch I can send you the link.

That would be great. But if this is correct http://tamrielvault.com/groups/topic/view/group_id/1/topic_id/8988 , Ebonarm is now the name for the Reachmen's Warrior Celestial
