    Any thoughts on this theory?

    https://www.reddit.com/r/teslore/comments/6s6sr8/theory_molag_bal_is_in_love_with_meridia/

I like it, it draws from what little we know of the Tract of Merid Nunda and Aldudagga and probably ESO (I haven't played much ESO, let alone gotten far enough in the main story to find Meridia-Molag Bal info).

Hey LoreAddict, long time no see :) Thanks for linking this, interesting stuff. I quite like it, it seems to fit although the dude has researched and likely knows more than I. That said, the idea that there is a connection between Merid and Bal isn't new, but never presented quite like that. The Magna-ge wars happen, they create Mehrunes the Razor who does his thing as described in Commentaries. And we know Merid was booted from Aetherius for consorting with ilicit spectra (Bal?). ESO is the first time we see them hate on each other and it does suggest a lot more is below the surface.

Interestingly, Molag Bal has historically been an enemy of Meridia since the days of TESII: Daggerfall.

Right? Which I think makes sense from her hatred of unlife, but up until ESO we never really thought there was a deeper layer - especially not a romantic one. But Merid has all the angst and insecurity to indigate something happened.

A very interesting theory indeed. Thanks for linking that one LoreAddict. Molag Bal always was my least favorite Daedra (mostly because, well, there's just not much evil/good duality to being the god of rape is there?) but this puts him and most importantly Meridia in a whole new perspective.

Yeah, that theory really changed the way I think about Meridia and Bal, It's been a looong time since I last played Oblivion, so a lot of the crazy Daedra Lore slipped my mind. I think I might have to hop back into ESO and experience the Meridia-Bal interaction for myself.

So this maybe a dumb question, but I was wondering if the LDB became a pure blooded Vampire Lord by taking Harkon's "gift" meaning you now have the blood of Bal in you. Would the LDB still have the blood/soul of a dragon or would it be replaced by Bal's?

It's still obviously there, even if you gain new blood you still have your own and even while you're technically dead the soul of a dragon can only be taken by another dragon through force, of which Harkon is not.

Thanks and that is what I was kind of thinking, but would some other people's opinions.
