I’m betting what’s on the surface wouldn’t be enough for him. Just judging by what he says in his looooong speeches, what he says to you in Apocrypha and in Septimus’s house. I don’t think facts would be enough. I mean, I’m not a lore person, so I absolutely could be wrong. But it’s fun to think about.

Ah glad I could help then. I would be fairly interested in the Summerset story though, haven't spent any time absorbing recent ESO knowledge, and if there's a link with Nocturnal at all that would be rather interesting. As far as I knew the Altmer aren't really the most connected with Daedra so, sounds like some interesting stuff :)

The flaw is I have to play Skyrim if I do that, which is the part where all my builds die these days. Hmm, maybe, I might give it a shot to develop something for it becuase I've still got a few ideas rolling around :)

It's interesting that the first shot looks an awfully lot like the Reach (at least in Skyrim)...But the rocky hills, the sparse vegetation, it just very much gives me the same vibe as the Reach does. Could be the aim there if it's some sort of pocket realm (one for each of the regions her Covens hold power with the Reach obviously being a major source) but interesting regardless.

I could bore you with the Summerset story if you want :D Now you mention it, there's something there connecting the topic Thorien and Ilani were discussing, so I'll mention it briefly there...

I like that idea of Evergloam reminding you of the Reach, that's a good interpretation and quite fitting. I'm not sure if that's intentional but run with it, and next time I'm there I'll be looking out for similarities.

Aaaannd...as I was trying to fall asleep last night, Hermaeus Mora’s incessant drive to obtain forbidden knowledge popped into my head, how he’s been stalking the Skaal forever, etc. I did a quick search to see if there’s anything on Mora’s inherent makeup warring with Nocturnal’s inherent makeup, but found nothing. It would be an interesting story, though.

But does he want to understand? Or knowing is enough to him?

This is interesting. Hermaeus Mora shares quite a bit of overlap with Mephala when it comes to secrets in that Mephala is a goddess of mystery. We mostly see her as a demon connected with murder and sex, the mystery aspect sort of propping those up. Yet there is this suble thing about Mephy, and we if could remove the murder and sex and focus on that mystery angle, it becomes a little more clear. In the Summerset questline of ESO, Nocturnal, Mephala, and Clavicus Vile appear to work together and form the Court of Bedlam. Their aim is to get inside the Crystal Tower and use it's magic for themselves. Anyway, such an alliance cannot last before betrayal rears its head, and we find ourselves allied with Mephala against Nocturnal. It is Mephala who gives us the necessary attuned Resolute Diamonds needed to enter the Tower. Memory fails at a crucial moment, but the theme which stays in my head is that only she could do that as she alone had learned that secret. I can only really find the image below to explain right now, but the Hermaeus and secrets idea is pretty strong when we look at what she wanted in exchange for her help - a meeting with Sotha Sil, the one who orchestrated the Coldharbour Compact. This compact bound eight of the Principalities to an oath forbading them from setting foot on Tamriel. We do not know what bargain was struck between the Clockwork God and the Webspinner, but I bet my hat Mephala learned something.

They...made Mephala look a lot better than anything spider based should look >.>

Interesting stuff there though... I suppose I really should've thought about that connection between Mephala, Herma-Mora and Nocturnal (or at least though that the connection makes a lot of sense) but the plot seems, either interesting or boring :P Honestly can't tell without playing it because I suppose it could be another 'Deadra want to invade Tamriel' sort of thing. But okay, so we've got an interesting little story that brings in Sotha Sil (to an extent) a bunch of Daedra and... the Crystal Tower? As in Crystal-Like-Law...the FUCK. Okay I might need to jump over and read through the Summerset discussion because I just glanced at the UESP page and now I'm hooked.

You know me, should throw in random Crystal-Tower references in everything to get be running as quick as possible. But okay I'm sorely tempted to buy Summerset now just so I can play through it and figure it all out :P

I've glanced through a few other pictures, and it feels a bit less concrete. I certainly wouldn't see a connection between The Shadow Cleft for example, it really just doesn't give off that vibe at all and...well I'll be honest, I mostly play Dunmer in ESO so I only chill out over in Morrowind so :P No idea if it looks like anything in High Rock.

But Crow's Nest? Can't look at this image and not be reminded a little bit of the Reach. Even the tower is fairly similar to the ones we see dotting Skyrim. Though I suppose that could just be it being an earlier area so they had less original assets or just drew more inspiration from the already established games...Either way it feels very much like the Reach so, probably nothing :P
