Did my first Maelstrom arena run yesterday, went in blind. Got knocked down a fair few times due to being too slow to pick up on the arena mechanics, but overall it was great. Maybe today I'll be able to try for the perfect run achievement.

  No. Like Skyrim, unarmed is really not a thing. You can punch, but ...that's about it. But it will get you killed fast. Even if you managed to kill the melee attacker, you'll get killed by the ranged caster or archers.
