I was thinking, some people seem to have been dissappointent with how the chat turned out, others did like it.

I myself have been on the chat for 16 hours, and it was one of the best, if not THE best chat i every had, even though it robbed me from sleep

So, did you think the chat was a dissappointment, or was it great? And why?

EDIT: I have found an off-blog chat room that we can use for now: Just use the same user name as here. *as long as Paul is fine with this*

It was fun, although at some point Shannon treathened to take my crayons and even told me I should share them.

Yeah, my crayons, and when she made me share them I went crazy. Eventually I gave away the pink one, I don't want the pink one.

It was awesome and fun for me,
on one hand we had a chance to discuss the new mmo and peoples feelings in real time which was very insightfull,
on the other hand i learned all about pie,
it was funny i enjoyed it

yes I loved the beginning of the chat that was fun. i didn't find the talk of pi/pie, melons, cucumbers and dongs at all interesting.

No i don't think it was awesome. There were a few moments but I got bored after seeing PIE or the actual numbers for the hundreth time. I actually ignored Alduin, dieter etc for a while just to stop the bleeping and the chat window being filled with nonsense.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that but atleast it wasn't as bad as in the beginning. It was PIE and PI every 10 seconds, later on it was like once in 10 minutes.

Well to be fair guy we had no prior knowledge of the chat module being up,
if it happens in future we could have some form of topics setup so the chat doesnt drift too pie so readily

I don't mind it, just not on the front page. It's distracting to me. Makes me feel rushed. lol! Needs to seperate. Like under 'Forums' or it's own header. Perfer the once or twice a month thang....Idk, I'm old. It's too much 'whipper-schnapper' for me. It's odd though, I notice some names I haven't seen on here before chiming in, which is cool. Maybe they're more confortable in the 'chat' format rather than posting stuff.

I can see it's not up anymore. Did it blow up? thought I smelled smoke on

Yeah, there were alot of members that i had not noticed before, i would certainly prefer the every weekend thing though :D And i dont know it it could go under its own header, need to wait for a response by Paul for that i quess.

Thats why I gave up man. When i did try to steer it back to a topic pie throwing seemed more important.

I think that a seperate header for chat would be a good idea, it being on the front page was rather annoying somehow. I would think it would be fun if it was every weekend, and there where some members I hadn't seen before that maybe like chat as way of talking about Skyirm instead of forums and blogs.

Well, maybe we could create some sort of groups in the chat, you know, serious stuff in one group, pies in the other

EDIT- Or just get a chatroom on an external chat, you know one of those free things where you can create you own chatroom, ours would just be TheSkyrimBlog... Just throwing out ideas.

It wasn't awesome - at least not in my opinion (which after is all is the one that really counts )

When I popped in for the first couple of hours there was sensible lore-based conversation with Vix, Ponty and others. That seemed to then degenerate into puerile and silly stuff about pies etc. Overnight (UK time) it seems that there was some downright offensive stuff, which has led to several complaints into my inbox and a couple of people basically saying they aren't coming to this site anymore.

What this experiment has shown is that having an open chat feature simply doesn't work on this site. We might have an occasional structured chat from time to time, as we have done before. But only when I can be there watching over it. The open chat won't be back, ever.

Offensive stuff that led to several complaints? What is that all about, what did they say?

When I was on for a short time this morning (AUS time) the conversation somehow degenerated into Khajiit and Argonian pornography :/ (Paul feel free to edit this out if you wish)
