    The title says it all

What is your opinion on the Ebony Warrior and his origin?

Personally I believe he is the aspect of Reymon Ebonarm, the Yokudan God of War.

    Chat it up.

I believe he´s either an aspect/avatar of Ebonarm, a champion of him, or perhaps a Redguard following the Nordic faith

He definitely follows the Nord faith, as he wants to go to Sovngarde...

Shame he gets the frigging same voice actor as Faendal and not someone with a badass voice like Ulfric.

I thought only Nords could learn the Voice, so he is probably the second to last Dragonborn.

I reckon he's just a warrior, who's insanely talented to the point where the only way to improve his ability was to learn the voice. No God or ancient hero, just a man.

Anyone can learn the voice with practice, it just takes years, the Nords have a somewhat natural affinity for it.

He's one hell of a badass man then.

Considering, according to most tales, Nords were formed via Kyne´s Voice, and were the first to learns it

    That sort of makes sense.

Hence why they consider Skyrim their natural home, according to their lore, mankind was formed on the Throat of the World, where Kyne breathed them into existence

Must've been a big breath for all that pride.

But yeah, what baffles me is why the Ebony Warrior wants to go to Sovngarde and not the Redguard afterlife (That I forget the name of)

The Fat, er Far Shores if I recall. Perhaps he is a Redguard born with the heart and soul of a Nord. Instead of being in an eternal paradise, he wants to go to a land where he can eternally test his mettle with fellow warriors, and get hammered, in more ways than one

But when you think about it, isn't every one of our characters and builds in Skyrim badass? He's meant to represent the stereotypical overpowered warrior we've all played, which means he's pretty much as tough as you can get. This is why I think he's just a man - a blank slate, like all of our characters were initially.

That's a good way of thinking of it.

Now I'm tempted to play an Ebony Warrior build all the way to level 80...

If he's Dragonborn, then you would absorb his soul when you kill him the same way you do with Miraak.

Not even close. It was Farengar.

The reason he's black is because the ebony armor rubbed off on him. Simple geometry.

Do it Morti, do it! Be the second build on this site to have a reason to reach a high level cap
