  (I hope I'm posting this in the right place...)

  Hi all, just wondering how necessary crafting in Fallout 4 is for my character.  My biggest concern is how important it is for the settlement-building part of the game.  If I don't do it, will Sanctuary become a post-apocalyptic Roanoke?  This is my first playthrough with the game, and I'd prefer to leave the crafting for later playthroughs; however, I don't want Sanctuary to die or disappear.

  Sanctuary will never die or disappear, but it's inhabitants might. Basically you just need to provide them with enough beds, food, water and defence and then they'll run themselves.
