I find the idea of Legion winning interesting. It'll be like the history repeating itself, starting from Ancient Rome

No system's perfect, including 'Democracy' in its many forms. I wouldn't say it's failed yet though. I just think it's the best system we have in that it's not as bad as any of the alternatives. Ultimately a system of Government is what the people in it make it

Eh? Didn't understand a word of that sorry! I'm interested in the philosophy behind the Bioshock city: the writings of Ayn Rand, similar to the 'Superman' philosophy of Nietzsche: that the more gifted and talented in society are entitled to more of its benefits than their lessers as they contribute more. The opposite of the Marxist-Leninist "From each according to his ability; to each according to his need". Fascinating to see such high-minded concepts in a shoot-em-up, & if I wasn't so busy with Skyrim I'd play it more!

Like "At least Mussolini made the trains run on time". In times of war Governments tend to lurch to the right, & it's understandable as decisions can be made more quickly without having to worry about getting anyone else's approval first.

Democracies turn into Oligarchies which turn into Autocracies.

Democracy is not the one at fault. Greed and desperation was. There is no "best" or "perfect" political or economic system. What we must do is mix the best qualities of all of them together. I think Democracy mixed with Socialist aspects is a great system, and in the face of desperation, the people need to stop and ask what they're willing to do to get things such as oil. It's obvious that war was the wrong idea, as it ended the world, but China was majorly at fault here as well. There is not many innocent nations in this juggle. Each had their own agendas, with some more devastating to the world economy than others.
