I think they no longer do subscription. You buy it once and then that's it.

    I think...

The game itself has no subscription fee. You do have to be subscribed to your consoles online multiplayer service, though, whether that's PSPlus or Xbox Live Gold.

I am about to be in the same boat, but the PS+ has some pretty cool perks. If it means playing online, I will certainly pay the 50 a year to do so.

I also have been paying xbox live subs for years and that was standard to do ANYTHING online including netflix.

So let's say I wanted to go buy the game, and then I don't have playstation plus, I won't be able to play it? So you pick or choose which payment you want? TechnoBuffalo.com Said that PlayStation blog said that ESO will not require playstation plus, but it will require a subscription fee. I just want to know if I can play it with only paying for the game once. There are plenty of games out there that DONT use PlayStation plus and it is multiplayer.

It just seems like all they want is money :P but nevertheless, I am going to get game and play it.

Not anymore. A Live Gold sub is no longer required for Netflix and other streamable video apps.

ESO and ANY online capable game will now require PS+ to play games online. That is something new since PS3 did not require that at all but PS4 now does.

Sure it is a bit extra money but you will NOT need PS+ to do other online apps such as Netflix or the like.

What do you play on the Xbone, Henson?

I am leaning towards PS4 for the hardware reasons and because either way I choose there is no backwards compatibility anyway...

Nothing yet. I still only have a 360, trying to decide between the two new consoles PS4 and XBone

One question, is it worth it? ESO, I mean, I have both the Xbox one and ps4 (Split parents)

Actually, you can play 360 games on XB1, but it's clunky. You have to run an HDMI cable from the 360 to the XB1 HDMI input port. Then, you select "Watch TV" (or say it if you have Kinect).

Like I said, a bit clunky since you still have to use the old console.

Oh, well in that case, here's a recommendation for the Xbone

Maybe wait a little bit and try to get it in Redbox so you can give a trial run for cheap? I've done that with a few games and it's been helpful for deciding what I'm interested in investing more time/money in.

Yeah the HDMI input is supposed to be for running satellite or cable TV to your XB1. In this case, the 360 is substituted for TV.

You do not need a subscription. You need PS+, just like every other multiplayer game. It is very cheap and great to have though.

It comes with a lot of deals off great games and occasionally free games and exclusive previews among other things.
