Guilds Of ES VI

I got to thinking about the joinable guilds/factions in Skyrim and realized all of them except the Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, and possibly Dawnguard are specificly Skyrim groups. All 3 of the none specific groups require the Dragonborn to join so that they can be brought back from the brink of extinction. With that in mind and the desolution of the Mages Guild and Fighters Guild what if any guilds will possibly be joinable in ES VI?

It should be noted that if you run Destroy The Dark Brotherhood Cicero and Babet are not in the sanctuary so there is the possibility for the Brotherhood to be in the next game without the Dragonborn joining. Also if you look up the Lore it says the Dragonborn is famous for defeating Alduin, Harkon, and Mirrak so one can assume the Dragonborn does infact join the Dawnguard.

So I'm thinking the Brotherhood will be in next game possibly a huge part of the story if it takes place in Black Marsh like the supposed leak says. The Dawnguard may branch out in their search for the Undead so they'll probably be in. I'm also assuming the Thieves Guild story was specificaly for the Skyrim guild so they'll be in. Question is what about Mages and Warriors and will Bethesda consider the desolution of the Brotherhood and Thieves Guild?

Skyrim groups? Dude, the Thieves Guild has been in all of the TES games and Oblivion has been in all but Morrowind.

On your second point, you kill Harkon if you're a vampire too so it's still also unclear if the Dragonorn joined the Dawnguard or not.

I said with the exception of the Brotherhood, Thieves Guild, and possibly Dawnguard. I know these are not specificly Skyrim guilds, but the last remaining Brotherhood Sanctuary is the one in Falkreath.

Good point on Harkon. I've only done one VL and forgot you kill Harkon either way.

The supposed leak was just a rumor. It will not be in black marsh.

Yeah I thought it was, but if Bethesda does release a game for Black Marsh the Brotherhood could possibly play a major role unless of course Bethesda decides to kill them off after the events of Skyrim.

Depends where the next game is set. I'm honestly more concerned about the quality of the factions in future games. The factions in Morrowind where more various and had far stiffer requirements before moving on to higher missions, I really liked that. The factions in Oblivion felt very linear and could be sped through, Skyrim improved on it a little but I still felt the faction quest lines ended abrupty and found it jarring...

I'd honestly love to be the man behind the wheel when it comes to creating the workings of the ES factions.  I remember being so disappointed when I visited the college of Winterhold for the first time, I'd been expecting Hogwarts, not some yard bolted together with a couple of bedrooms...

...still, Volkihar castle is really awesome and Fort Dawnguard is pretty special.

The Imperial Legion was also really good in Morrowind, you could visit all the Forts and there would be plenty of dudes handing out missions, nice splash of politics and infighting going on...

Skyrim's version feels like playing Risk.

Yeah I always thought that Dawnguard is one of the coolest faction stories and best joinable factions, but it's offset by the fact that most of the armor and weapons are only useful in the story or extended quests.

I'm pretty sure if they do a game in Black Marsh the main story will probably have to do with being a Shadowscale. As far as I know that's the only unique thing for Argonians. At least it's the only thing I've come across.

Race specific factions would be incredible.

The only doubt I would have is how they (Bethesda) usually grant everything to any character you make but it would be AWESOME to have specific locations that some races cannot get to either at all or not without some sort of difficult quest.

Like the Shadowscales for example, an Argonian could pass and enter much easier and a Breton character might not be able to join at all.

I also hope that joining factions are much more involved! Some of Skyrim's factions were just "hey I showed up" and then "I AM LEADER" type of deal.

Yeah, that's the aspect I couldn't think of, the Orc strongholds!

The idea of having 3 types of "areas" is very intriguing:

    Areas anyone can get to.

Areas anyone can get to with a bit of questing and trust from other NPCS (maybe some races can get there quicker with better rewards, etc.)

Areas that are completely race-locked. (Maybe there could be something the player could "experience" a bit from these, or maybe none at all)

    Very fun to think about.

I think they are going in the right direction though, they needed more time to play with the radiant system with Skyrim...

...if they had applied that system to some of the factions they could have made it really special.Let's say you join the legion and get assigned to patrol a hold at night and they throw in various sneaky thieves that you have to arrest... Or simply escorting a cart of goods to the next hold and fighting off radiant bandit attacks... Maybe at the higher ranks you have to protect Kings/Jarls from assassinations...

It would make joining a faction more interactive than simply plodding from quest to quest in a linear order until someone suddenly says 'stop!' and informs you that you're now the leader... and there's bugger all for you to do...

...also if I'm now the leader I want more perks! And recognition!! I want the option to have a squad follow me when I travel and bandits should leg it when they see me coming!!

Honestly it gets a little annoying when lvl 1 bandits mindlessly try and take you on when you're clearly brandishing a WMD and wearing 10,000spt worth of armor, would be nice to chase them down more often...

I'm all for race specific locations and npc interaction. I mean they do it in most mmo's and since ESO is getting it's console debut soon it's not unreasonable to think they could include it in the next game. I'm not very knowing of all the lore, but from what I can tell every race has a specific group special to them except maybe orcs. I've never ran across anything orc specific other than the strongholds in Skyrim and the worship of Malacath.

Does ESO use the radiant system? I play console and haven't played it yet. If it does then that's 2 games playing around with it to get it just right so ES VI should definitely have a major boost in that department.

Lol. The bear story actually happend to me. The kidnap victim that tells you about the bandits at mistwatch ran right up to a bear and tried fighting it after I pointed her towards Rorikstead.

Dawnguard is a Skyrim-specific faction. It was founded by the Jarl of Riften to keep his vampiric son contained and to hunt down vampiric activity in Skyrim.

TES VI will have a guild for warrior-type characters, mage-type characters, and two for sneaky-type characters, one for killers and one for thieving.

Yes the orginial Dawnguard was formed for those reasons, but the Dawnguard in game isn't the original so we can't be sure if they will stay specificaly in Skyrim. The question of the guilds was more will they be the same old guilds we know or will they be new ones. With the mages and fighters guilds already desolved and the Brotherhood a question mark what are the chances of getting all new guilds and what might they be?

The Fighter's Guild wasn't dissolved like the Mage's Guild. It isn't in TES V because the Fighter's Guild was never in Skyrim. The Companions out compete them there.

The Dawnguard in Skyrim is specifically to "fight the growing vampire menace" in Skyrim. Vampires aren't causing trouble anywhere else because the vampires causing trouble are the Volkihar, Skyrim's native vampiric bloodline.

The answers to this are really simple; no one knows. We don't know where the game will be placed, or when. Speculating on specific organizations is a pointless endeavor. Every province has their own native organizations. All that we can expect are guilds for warriors, thieves, assassins, and mages.

Tom we know these guilds will be in the next game, but part of the fun of knowing the game will be made is speculating and discussing things we'd like to see or hope get included. Like for instance just what exactly are the Psijjics doing with magical artifacts? Will they make another appearance just to collect some crazy powerful artifact or possibly become a joinable faction? Or will there be another more sinister back story for the sudden reappearance of the Psijjics?
