    Hello all, Emer here!

As some of you know, TheSkyrimBlog operates on an annual subscription plan form the Ning platform. Every year we hold a fundraiser to help fund the Blog for the year to come, and what isn't raised is donated by the Site Owner. This year, as per usual, we are going to be trying to raise $300 USD to keep the Blog running for another year. As the donations come in, I will update this discussion to show how much was raised. Should we go over $300 USD, the remainder of the money will be put toward the Blog's eventual upgrade to the newest Ning platform.

To donate, click on the button directly beneath your Profile Box on the right-hand side of the screen. That will take you to TheSkyrimblog's official PayPal donation page!

Thank you all for reading (and a big thank you to all who donate), and I will keep you updated on the amount that we have raised!

WE'VE MET OUR GOAL! $300 USD RAISED!

Yay! The blogs are back, anyways, I'm getting my credit card back soon so by the end of the month I'll probably drop some moneys in the box.

    I'll happily donate some money.

    **Update: I donated $ 25.

Keep in mind, all donations help; none is too small. Nearly everyone can donate $5 (that equates to donating 10 cents a week to help keep the blog alive for another year) or at least a $1 (a dollar from every member will keep the blog running for a looong time - that's two cents a week...). Need your parent's credit card? Try doing an extra chore or two.

Exactly Rune, we cannot say this enough! Every donation goes toward keeping the Blog alive!

You can't take the credit cards, but Skyrim has taught me that it is okay to fish around in pockets without taking anything!

I don't trust PayPal. Also, I would, pay if I could, but sadly, I am broke.

Paypal uses a 128 bit encryption key; it's safe.

The odds of 'guessing' such a key is approximately 1 in 340000000000000000000000000000000000000. To put in another way, if you had a computer that could make a billion (1x10^9) guesses a second, then it would take about 1000000000000000000000 years (1 sextillion (US) years) to exhaust the possibilities.

You could offer a badge of honour for donations as an incentive.

How much is it for the upgrade?  I'm throwing in regardless, but I may bump it up if need be.

The upgrade will be $600, though we still have at least a year before we are forced to upgrade.

Also, thank you for your contribution! Every donation counts!

We've considered this idea, but we know that some donators prefer their anonymity. And we didn't want to make non-donators feel bad!

So far 20% of the needed funds have been raised! Thank you to all who have donated so far!

Remember, every donation counts! Be it a single dollar or a hundred dollars, your donations help TheSkyrimBlog stay up and running so everyone can enjoy it!

Just a single dollar from every member would make the blog's life essentially permanent (well it covers the cost for many years to come). That dollar donation equates to $0.02 per week. That two cents a week give members: Character Builds, Roleplay Ideas, Tricks & Glitches, Lore, Stories, Art, Answers to Questions, Skyrim Discussions, Discussions for other games, Live Role-play, Mod Tips, non-gaming discussions, etc., etc.

Personally I would rather see 20 people giving a dollar each, than one person donating twice that total.

I agree with you, Rune. Twenty people each giving a dollar shows us that people want the Blog to survive!

If $600 is raised now, would the upgrade be made sooner?

That depends on how fast the Ning development team can work!

I would gladly donate, if I wasn't broke.

    You don't have a dollar? That's not broke, it's destitute ...

Oh, so the upgrade isn't available quite yet?

It is available, but it is being released in three parts. As of now they are almost done with Part 2, and we are waiting until they are partially done with the third part before we consider/are forced to upgrade.

I can't donate, my mom is the only one with money and she wouldn't let me donate even a single dollar because with a new family member we have to save our money whenever we get extra because of how much we now spend... I apologize all :(

Well, I have money, I just don't have any money, yet, in my bank account.
