I am making the typical last dragonborn in my skyrim playthrough from the trailers and stories and things. Im not sure which side he would join in the war, imperial legion or stormcloak rebellion. Please leave answers with valid reasons why they should join a certain side and thank you.

Why the legion? He is a nord. Why not fight for the freedom of his people?

    Ulfric is a huge jerk.
And the empire is the best chance against the dominion, winning the freedom of your people would make the land a non-imperial province, who could be attacked by the dominion without breaking the concordat, and ulfric couldn't defeat an weakened legion, why he would defeat the dominion's army?

And remember, the Nords have always been the backbone of the Legion, the first big human empires were Nordic, and finally, Stormcloak victory will be the end of the Empire.

    Also. Talos founded the Empire

Stormcloaks, because they are the Nordiest, and the Nord Dragonbron will be drawn to them and their ideals.

It's basically like well, the storm cloaks are a bunch of racist, and discriminative militia.

The imperials however are a real army however and they will be able to defend skyrim.

Negative point for the Storm cloaks: Ulfric doesn't care about the people, he only wants the power of the high king.

Plus, ulfric won't just talk to tullius, if he did he would find out that tullius soon wants to attack the thalmor.

    this is the mede empire.

The imperials can't even defend themselves. how can they defend skyrim, and from what? Who'll invade them? Akavir, that's a long shot.

From  the Elves, eventually. SKyrim can't defeate a single half strength legion.

correction. The Stormclaoks are not all fo Skyrim. The elves will have to commit war crimes to get to skyrim though, through cyrodiil, or hammerfell, the elves aren't anywhere near getting to skyrim.

Neutral on the Civil war until after the dragons are dealt with (priorities). Then independence for Skyrim.

We all know the elves are just itching for Skyrim anyhow...

"Skyrim is for the High Elves!"  Quote from in-game dialouge.

False. The Backbone of the legion has ALWAYS been Colovians.

That has been the best answer yet, Rune.

It still makes Skyrim independent, which serves the AD but no one else (not even the Nords), so def not the best answer from my point of view.

Have you ever actually sat down and heard Ulfric out?

  • April 24, 2014 12:35 PM EDT

Then why do they need Skyrim? If they're fine without Skyrim, who cares if Skyrims independent?

The manpower and natural recourses are still very welcome.

welcome to come and go as it pleases, or FORCED!

The Last Dragonborn, if you're going by where the story line leads you, would side with Whiterun, and unless you push Balgruuf, he will stay Neutral.

The Last Dragonborn is above the selfish squabbling rebellion, becoming Harbinger of the Companions quickly, and once Alduin and Miraak are defeated, I like to imagine he makes a peace treaty with both sides, and leads the attack on the Thalmor with a host of Dragons, Blades, and an united army of Men.
