It included one of the most modern fortresses at the time will full garrison.

But did it have that kind of importance? Maybe they got overconfident due to their modern fortress...

What city was that? I didn't find it in Eighty Years' War

I don't think they will have any interest in Black Marsh. If anything they may forge an alliance with Argonians against Dunmer for the Red Mountain... After all, who wants to get into swamps of Argonia

Oh yeah the Spanish were overconfident alright, they were for the better part of the war, believing they couldn't possibly lose..

Not sure what it was called, it was an important location, but it would likely be conquered by the Dutch rebels anyway so the conquest itself wasn't of that much importance. Still, they took the Spanish by suprise and took the the fort and nearby city quickly before anyone could help.

I would think that most Provinces and their respective races endure plenty of political strife.

Cyrodiil hasn't as far as I know

The very thing the Dominion will do  Their ships are the fastest, they can strike and take Bretons at complete surprise. Due to the internal conflicts and misinformation that the Dominion will undoubtedly spread prior to invasion, the conquest of High Rock may be very fast.

I'm sure the Bretons will be watching the seas. ^^

It didn't help them with corsairs  And Dominion fleet is the strongest in Tamriel...

Ehh, Hammerfell is still very bloody. The Redguards' worst enemies are each other (well the other political party, but you know what I mean).

Aren't they a bit more united now after they worked together during the war?

  • October 25, 2013 11:54 AM EDT
One aspect they disagreed on was the case of Imperial culture. Now that most Imperials are out of Hammerfell (I doubt they kicked out random Imperials), they're pretty much in agreement on that. But there are still cases of disagreement.

I guess there always will be.

Attack from elsweyr. That's the shortest route to the imperial city. Those waterways are basically highways. So, lead a diversion attack, enough to make them think it's the main thing on, on anvil, then move in troops from elsweyr. Blitzkrieg style.

Yes, Cyrodiil position is very dependent on it's neighbors strategically. With Valenwood and Elseweyr at their disposal the Dominion basically has a backdoor to the Imperial City

Too bad the Dominion lacks the Manpower for another assault.

Well, yeah...  If they not make Khajiit to reproduce like rabbits and use them as a bulk of the army  In fact they might make it so, the first war they thought that their magic and superiority will be enough. The next time they'll have the numbers

Still not enough. Especially since this time it won't be a surprise and the Empire has pissed of Colovians.

But no help from Skyrim and Hammerfell...  No race can stand against alliance of three others alone

Skyrim doesn't have independence yet, there's still the Breton legions and the Redguards might help.

Even if Skyrim does get independence there will still be a lot of Nord legionaires that will still serve the Empire.

If the Dominion could predict the birth of certain types of Khajiit, they could have Battecats by the thousands and all of them ridden by Cathay-raht. Freaking Nazis with their Panzers storming across the plains of France. These petty humans and elves know nothing of war. SHOR, will be the war master.

I doubt they can control moon phases to directly influence certain breeds. They may be able to predict those, but it'll take quite some time before they can have sizable force.

What? They can't change the pace at wich the moons move.. Nor can they force Khajiit to reproduce faster than is possible.

    Besides, pikemen > Battlecats.

  • October 25, 2013 12:25 PM EDT

    I'm talking exploiting births.

  • October 25, 2013 12:26 PM EDT

    Not controlling moons, exploiting them.
