20 years later....

As many of you may know the original Elder Scrolls game Elder Scrolls Arena was released way back in 1994. Now next year is 2014 meaning it will be the 20 year anniversary of The Elder Scrolls. So what do you think Bethesda should do for its most successful game franchise`s 20th anniversary? Discuss.

Skyrim game of the year edition.
    Morriwond short remake/dlc
    Introduction of a new race
    Elder scrolls online for consoles

A Hi-Res HD remake of the best Unique Weapons/Armor/NPC's from Oblivion or Morrowind for Skyrim.

A chance to go to Oblivion, kinda like they did with Solstheim (Morrowind). <<< This is quite a likely chance that Bethesda has discussed it already methinks

I want them to come out and say something like they have been working on a remake for arena secretly for years and release it on its anniversary... though I know that will never happen.

I don't think there will be ESO for consoles.
Mouse is faster than a joystick so it would be unfair at PvP etc etc.

Morrowind/Oblivion remastered using the Skyrim engine.  Though, that's unlikely.

If not, then I'd like to see a giant bundle of Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim with all their DLCs.  Almost like an "Ultimate Elder Scrolls" package.

I'd like to think they'd pull a rabbit out the hat and produce 'Arena Remastered' using the Skyrim engine. But I doubt they'd put the time and resources into that

I think Kyrielle's idea of an Ultimate Elder Scrolls package is most likely. After all it won't actually involve any development time

Remember - every resource put into remastering an ancient game means that Elder Scrolls VI gets pushed back further!

I don't mind that. Would you rather they rush out ES6 and it be shit, or take a few extra years and make it great? I prefer the latter

    I don't expect they'll rush it. I'm expecting it in about 2016.

But if they spend a year working on rejigging an old game, then its gonna be 2017

There's only so much resource they can put into these things

So? It's still only a year... It's not like they would push it back 5-10 years, that would be insane... A year? Eh...

I really hope they take their time with TES VI. I also hope its put into a very exotic area of Tamerial unlike Oblivion and Skyrim. Perhaps maybe Vallenwood or Black March, possibly even Elsywr.

Why not? Vallenwood would be so different in culture compared to Oblivion and Skyrim that I think it could be interesting. Black Marsh would be interesting as well seeing how the take over of Morrowind has affected it. Finally Elsywr is kind of like the polar opposite of Skyrim in the landscape, temperature, dungeons, and culture. Instead of the brave nord warriors of Skyrim you have the witty Khajiit thieves of Elsywr.

Elswyr sounds like it has a really diverse landscape. It gets my vote as long as it isn't filled to the brim with solely Khajiit.

Burn Elsywr and it's demonic, freaks of nature Khajiit down to the ground!

Elswyr I would love to see for TES VII maybe but for TES VI my vote goes to Vallenwood.

I think Khajiit are interesting in culture and personality.
  • March 16, 2013 12:05 PM EDT
I like the Khajiit, they have probably the most interesting viewpoint on the world around.

We have already been to Cyrodiil in a TES game before. Summerset Isles would be interesting and so would Hammerfell but I would rather see the Summerset Isles after the dominion has fallen and see what it does to the people. As for Hammerfell while I think it would be interesting there are other areas I would much rather see first.

    Hammerfell, you say? :D
