Music - my favorite topic!

There may already be an existing topic of this nature, so forgive me if there is!

Music is one of the bigger parts of my life. What types of music do you like?

I listen to quite a bit of everything, literally. Country, pop, screamo, metal, classic 50's (blame Fallout for that addiction!), alternative, rap.. etc. I like to be diverse :-) My overall favorite band would be Brand New (and if you know of and like them it's likely we'll be best friends for life).

I mainly listen too Hardcore and hardstyle and the only 'rap' i listen too is ERB and Dan Bull. Sometimes Opgezwolle too, although, only 3-4 people on this site know of it's existence.

    Angerfist! Angerfist!

I listen too most types of music too, except for screamo... I HATE it. But for rap my favorite rapper would have to be Eminem, Country is the Zach Brown Band, and Rock (I dont care if they're an old group they still are the best) ACDC. :)

I love Eminem and ACDC. ZBB was alright at first but just to me a lot of their songs sound the same as far as the tune and all, but I'm that way with country as a whole, not just that band.

I must say I HATE rap I won't say anymore in the fear of evoking a flame war I mostly listen to 80s rock poison, guns and roses, ozzy, ect. I am also a big Johnny Cash fan.

Cool I only like music that has meaning behind the words rap is about drugs, money, and sex mostly.

Same here -- kinda why I like Eminem. True he has some downright stupid songs but some are also amazing (ie. "Rabbit Run", "Stan", etc.)

I do not listen to that trash either. It's a mockery of music, and shouldn't be listed as such.

Woah woah woah, take it down a noch, rap is amazing. Even though the songs they make now a days suck cuz all you hear are guys sounding like girls 24/7 on the radio (Usher), but the old rap is really good. Lil Wayne... ehhh.... but Eminem, Mike Jones, 2pac, Biggie, they are all classics! Don't hate, just appreciate :)

Especially the 'dont hate' part. I believe no matter how much you dislike a genre, it IS a part of culture in itself.

I will acknowledge that Eminem is a musician, but none of the others fall into the same category. They all claim to be things that they aren't, except for Eminem, who has actually gone through what he raps about. Even then though, I won't listen to any of it.

Perhaps some cultures, but I don't agree with this statement. Some cultures are into it (such as the Western cultures of America) but my original culture is not, therefore I refuse to call it music, and I will continue to "hate".
