The Blade of The Past - Chapter 1 - The Great Escape

  • The pebbles on the floor rumbled, soldiers lost their balance and, as had been the case several times, my eyes had been deceived for one more time, a dragon as black as the night, as large as a tavern, flew over the mountains, and landed menacingly upon the tower. For a brief moment, we made eye contact and I heard his voice in my head, saying 'Dovahkin, join me, or I shall devour you like the rest of these worms', I was furious, I stared deep into his blood red eyes, and shouted at him, a cold blizzard emerged from my mouth! He quickly took off and started causing havoc to the town of 'Helgen' I believe it was called. I myself ran to the nearby tower where some troops were held up, I ignored everyone and just ran up the tower, as soon as I get near the top, a huge amount of rocks and dirt fall upon me as the dragon destroyed the wall with his own head, burning the people mere feet from me to ashes, he then left to continue his rain of terror.
I looked down to the hole through the house below me, and I didn't think twice, I leaped down and braced for impact, but I made it with not a scratch. I ran out of the house, and ran across the dirt to the narrow passage meters from me, then out of nowhere the dragon lands right infront of me! I now knew of my powers, and how to use some of it 'FUS, RO, DAH!!!!' such immense raw power emerged, knocking the dragon enough to the side for me to gain access to the pathway. As I get near the keep, I see an Imperial solder, and one of the rebels arguing, it seemed as if they had a past history, I went in with the Imperial soldier. Once we were safely inside, I asked him to unbind me, 'here you go, lets find a way out of here, oh, my name is Hadvar by the way' he said, 'Agreed, and its Baurus'. We ran across the hallways, battling off any resistance that tried to step in our way, I had only an iron sword, not my most preferred choice, but it did the job.
As we are treading trying to find a way out, we came across this lair of sorts, covered in webs, I slowly and cautiously walked forward, when a large, hairy spider lands directly on me, knocking me to the ground, I was done for, it was about to spew venom at me, but luckily Hadvar had shot an arrow at the beast, allowing me to live.
We fought off the rest of them and continued down the path. There we were faced by a bear, it looked tough, I told Hadvar I wanted to take it on by myself. I made my presence known to the bear, he snarled and roared, he came charging right at me, at an incredible speed, but it triggered this new
power, that slowed time! His fast charge was now replaced by a slow Mudcrab walk, damn mudcrabs. As he was about to connect against me, I jumped onto his back and rode the beast around, until I grabbed my sword with both hands, and stabbed down upon its head, leaving it dead, 'how did you do that? are you... Dragonborn?' said Hadvar with a look of shock in his face, 'I do not know what I am Hadvar, all I know is that I am alive to save Tamriel, and with those great responsibilities have come great power, and with great power, comes hope to see peace in Tamriel once more', I left it at that, we saw sunlight near where we were, and embarked towards it, to escape this keep. Did I mention I hate mudcrabs?

Whoa, Kyle, you found some really nice pics!  I also appreciate the indentation of paragraphs...I know the ning editor can get a bit tricky typing them in, but it helps so much when reading it to see those breaks.  I really enjoy hearing Baurus' perspecti...  more
