The Blade of The Past - Prologue Part 2 of 2

  • I rubbed my eyes, and shook my head from side to side, weren't these Dwarves extinct, I had heard stories about them, but never in my days thought I would actually see one physically. I asked him what he wanted with me, he simply replied 'get on the carriage, and you shall find out', foolishly, I stepped in the carriage and sat beside some crates, and the last thing I remember about being on the carriage is hearing one of the Dwarves say 'its time to sleep now', I blacked out immediately.
As my eyes opened, my vision was blurry, everything was spinning and I was not sure of what was going to happen to me, I looked up, and saw a ruin of sorts, a huge ruin, unlike anything I've ever witnessed, it must have been their home. They dragged me in through the big golden doors, they placed me in this prison cell and took The Elder Scroll with them. I lay facing the ceiling, wondering what I had done, what I had gotten myself into. 'Thought they'd be friendlier hmm redguard?' Said a voice from the corner of the dark cell. 'Who is that? come forth at once' I shouted. I saw a tall, pale figure, also Elven like, my eyes seem to be deceived for the what tenth time now? It was a Snow Elf, I knew this because I read old stories about them.'What is your name? I am Baurus'. 'I am Galahan' he replied calmly. I asked him if he knew what the Dwarves were up to, he did not know, but he was sure it would be something to not benefit us.
Days passed in the cell, I prayed to Talos almost every moment I was there. One night, I had the most lucid dream, I was walking into two huge white gold gates, covered in leaves and shine, there was a man, and he spoke to me,'too long have you suffered, too long have your enemies excelled, Baurus, I wish to grant you a gift bestowed upon me when I walked Tamriel, when you wake, you shall feel the power within you', I felt a blast of energy hit me, and sent me to the other side of the cell, waking me up. I told Galahan about it but he did not respond.
I looked at the golden poles keeping me from killing those Dwarves, my anger was unlike it has ever been and out of nowhere, I utter these three words 'FUS RO DAH!!!' and send the poles flying out of where they once were! Galahan looked at me in shock, and uttered the words...'Dragonborn...'
'Me... Dragonborn?' I said, it  must have been what Talos told me, it must have been the gift he had given me to defeat these Dwarves and continue on serving the land of Tamriel! I walked out of the cell, a group of three Dwarves charged at me fiercely, but I used my new ability to Incinerate them with the fire breath of Dragons. As I entered the main room, I see The Elder Scroll upon a table, I run towards it to retrieve it, but as soon as I'm at fingertips reach, I get hit with a ball of fire.'Lad, why did you try to escape, you cannot defeat the Dwarves' he said. My back was burnt, i was in severe pain, but I somehow managed to cloak myself from all damage using my new abilities, the Dwarf looked in astonishment. Then out of nowhere, Galahan attacks the Dwarf, as they're battling, I crawl and crawl to the scroll, I hear marching, and from across the long corridor, I see dozens of Dwarves ready to destroy me and Galahan.'Baurus! you must use the scroll, go forth in time away from this' he shouted, I grabbed the scroll and looked deeply into it once opened, my vision was blackening, and I saw Galahan injured on the floor, before I could help him, I simply black out once again...
My vision still foggy, confused and unknowing of my situation, I hear the galloping of horses, the sound of men speaking beside me, as I open my eyes further, and everything seems clearer, I step out of this carriage to a snowy looking area, we are lined up to be executed, I was baffled, I had gotten out of a near death situation, now I face another. I see the Empire soldiers, but they do not recognize me or acknowledge me or my innocence, and then there is this Ulfric Stormcloak, being accused of an uprising against the Empire, why would anyone do that? What era was I in?
One Nord gets executed, then I hear these chilling words 'Next, the redguard', I walk towards the block slowly, I pray to Talos once  more, and lay my head upon the chopping block, as I see the large arms of the executioner raise his axe up high in the air, I close my eyes, and hear a thunderous Roar in the mountains...

Thank you, I have a lot more ideas,  some things that are not implemented in Skyrim will go down (just stuff I make up ) and ofcourse some key quests Baurus must accomplish in his journey.

Kyle, these are some pretty amazing twists, I agree!  I really like the connection that Baurus has with this Septim family, and how Talos is trying to help him, something a Divine might actually do.  Really cool backstory!
