In Bloodstains Embossed

  • In Bloodstains Embossed

    Two friends

    Enticed by

    What lay ahead

    A cave laden with treasure

    Not far from their stead.

    Armed to the teeth

    With blade and with spell

    They approach the black maw

    And the darkness dispel.

    Torches bright for illuminating

    Keep the adventurers lit,

    And swords sharp, blades gleaming,

With these the foul beasts hit.

    Undead swarm

    The adventurer two,

    Cold death against warm

    Flesh, arrows flew

    Towards dead assailants

    But the onslaught never stop

    An arrow hail

    Undead body over body drop.

    A retreat down the stairs,

    But more yet await

    The two lighting flares

    Burning the enemies they hate.

    A crypt reopened,

    Treasure lost,

    Two adventurers roped in

    lay in bloodstains embossed.

Nice! Apparently you can make poems faster then I can, because I'm still burnt out

I really liked this poem. I liked the start with optimism and then how it ended. I also like that you imply what attacked them without going out and saying it.
