The Song of the Huntress

  • In the verdant forests of Valenwood lived an elf of many names. She lept through canopies of green, she cavorted through the plains. Her footwork was quite impressive, just as much so as her aim. She nocked an arrow in the daylight, she frolicked through the rain. The huntress let her arrow loose, tipped with a feather black. It flew and flew past through the snow, and took her startled prey aback. She hauled the elk through crunchy leaves, her oaken bow strapped to her back. She lugged it to her cabin fair, and pulled a dagger from her knapsack. His meat became her dinner, his bones became her flute. His hide became the clothes she wore, and his antlers were her lute. All year long the huntress roams, looking for her prey. She dances through the seasons four, she skips across the bay.
