Freystein's Tale: Author's Interlude 2

  • (Return to: Table of Contents)

I'd like to thank those who have been reading along and the couple of you that have left 'likes'. I greatly appreciate it. All feedback is always welcome.

Now, the time has come in the tale where my use of mods will start to be apparent. I don't have anything lore-breaking, but I figured I'd just post about the noticeable ones now, before anyone gets confused.

I have one weapon mod: The Thegn by InsanitySorrow. It just seemed too on-topic not to use. However, I've greatly toned down the power of the sword for my installation and it now sits between a regular Steel Sword and a Skyforge Steel Sword (instead of the Ebony Stats it has by default).

I have several armor mods: Cyrodiilic Chainmail by Croc, Iron Armor with sleeves by defunkt, Studded Chainmail by Franklin Zunge, and Nordic Round Shield by fortran.

I've made my own personal tweaks to most of these, typically to reduce the effectiveness of the armors (except the Cyrodiilic Chainmail, which I tweaked to be a little bit stronger) to bring them more in line with their standard equivalents. I wanted the looks for RP reasons; I didn't want to break the game.

I have several gameplay/immersion mods worth mentioning: Bandolier - Bags and Pouches, Civil War Overhaul, Immersive Patrols, and AFT. I believe those are all popular enough they need no explanation or introduction.

It should go without saying that I have the Unofficial Patches, as well.

Everything else I have are graphics/weather mods and should have no effect on the gameplay or Freystein's story.

I may install another chainmail mod (with tweaks - every one I've looked at has much too powerful stats) if I feel the need/can be bothered. Any suggestions?
