SotF: The Cape War

  • While the Thalmor supported coup of Valenwood in 4E29 did saw the overthrowing of Imperial friendly forces and the establishment of the Third Aldmeri Dominion, it did not however mean the end of anti-Thalmor sentiment and resistance movements. For the next 70 years, pro-Thalmor, pro-Imperial and other independent factions waged a secret war in the forests of Valenwood. Leading the Thalmor factions in this conflict was the triumvirate of the Adamora, Lyekynd and Oiodiil tribe who as a reward for their part in the Valenwood coup of 4E29 were also given joint rule of the province. On the Imperial end, the Riverthorn, Ivywind, Fernbrook and the Shadowblade tribe with the backing of the Imperial Legion commanded loyalist forces in the shadows of the forest. As the two major factions fought on, local chieftains and other warlords took up arms and declared independence, rejecting both the Empire and the Dominion. This unofficial conflict was known as the Cape War, named so after the capes each tribe members wore to differentiate themselves from members of other tribes.

Interesting. Is this actual lore, or is it something you made up? Either way, it's interesting!
