Dezak the Assassin - Prologue Part 1 - Curse my Name

  • My first part of Dezak's back story! I haven't started this character yet, but once I get through the back storey I'll begin and post his adventures as they happen! Any feedback would be awesome =] and enjoy!

The lightning illuminated the night. One, two, three, four. Thunder, loud enough that I could hastily, but yet skilfully, break into the door that stood in my way. The door was closed behind me before the sound echoed out of earshot, no one knew I was here. My mark was a wealthy merchant that obviously did something to really piss someone off. I don't really care what that was, it's my job to eliminate the target and collect my pay, not listen to the poor fools misdeeds.

I hugged the shadows of the entranceway, listening to every little sound of the house. There at least five body guards wondering the house. Cautious little bastard, I thought. No matter, they'll all be dead before they know anything is wrong. The shadows wrapped themselves around me as I began to stalk the building. Two unsuspecting guards went down, gurgling blood and holding their throats. The third didn't even have a moment to think as I appeared from the shadows directly in front of him and stabbed his heart and slashed his neck. Two more.

The final two guards were side by side talking in the hall. Now it's time to have some fun! With a grin, I cast a fury spell at the guard closest to me, and as sure as the sun rises, he starts attacking his comrade! I must say, it's always a joy to watch two targets fight to the death. As the guard I cast my spell on shoved his blade into his friends gut, I crept up behind him and slashed his throat with both daggers.

Now that my fun was over, it was time to do what I came here for. I open the door to the merchants room, and to my surprise he was standing there watching the door. "You took your sweet time getting here Dark Elf." His voice had a snide sound to it. Just his voice was enough to want me to stab him.

"If you knew I was coming, why did you bother with the guards?" I asked, though I truly didn't care.

"To prove that you are truly worth my time." That response truly caught me off guard. I studied his face, Imperials are never high on my list of "attractive" races, though his eyes were shining like he just found some long lost treasure.

"And what could you possibly want with me? And answer wisely, say one wrong word and my blades will taste your blood." I could tell he tried very hard to keep a straight face, he was scared.

A thin smile stretched across his face as he looked down at the blade on his belt. My eyes followed his and I noticed the markings on the hilt and scabbard, imperial guard, a captain none the less! What the fuck is going on here! Something didn't feel right, I looked out the open windows to my left and right, my keen eyes picked out two imperials out each window, all four had arrows trained on me. The door opened behind me and two more guards came in, both heavily armoured with swords drawn. The captain looked back up at me smiling, "You are under arrest for the murders of countless citizens on Cyrodiil, assassin." The way he sneered the word assassin made my blood boil with hatred, I had to do something.
