I doubt this is something implemented, but wouldn't it be awesome to get back to town after a day of adventuring and have a nice drink with friends? I'm excited for Radiant AI, because even if it's not to that extent, I'm glad there will be more of a connection between you and the NPCs.

" Also, the fact that if the adventurer just dumps a pile of junk in town, npc's will ask if they can have it. All those little details that we, as gamers, have known in the past that technical limitations make it okay to overlook. Now we have the tech and Bethesda could have looked past this and still been okay. But it's their attention to immersion that will make these systems soar.
But I'm most psyched for the glitches and things its NOT intended to do. Best fun of Bethesda games. less

On the other end of the spectrum, it would be cool to be able to develop like, an arch-nemesis relationship with some NPC's, where they would then try to foil your quests or spread rumours about you that might cause problems.
This isn't exactly the Radiant AI but it'd also be cool if you could invite your buddies to go hang out at the local tavern and get wasted together less
Great comments everyone I think now we have a good understanding of how it works so now let's focus on where we want it. Those little anecdotes that enhance your experience

"The improved Radiant AI technology is also more aware of how a citizen should react to your actions. As you perform tasks for them or terrorize them by ransacking their home, the NPCs develop feelings about you. If you're good friends with a particular NPC and barge into his house during the middle of the night, he may offer you lodging rather than demand you leave the premises. If you swing your weapon near an NPC, knock items off their dinner table, or try to steal something of value, they'll react with an appropriate level of hostility given their prior relationship to you." I really hope this thing at least gets close to our hopes. I say at least close because what I am hoping for is probably a little bit unrealistic, so if it even got close it would still be radically awesome. less

I kinda forgot how it works, and we will see it's effects through random side quests and stuff. I want it to work like this: I marry a woman in Riverwood, and some other guy that wanted to marry her first tries to kill me because I 'Stole his woman'. I think that would make it more interesting and fun. I also heard that you can get a dog companion by saving it from a pack of wolves in the woods. Will Radiant story and AI live up to the hype? No idea. I don't go from past experiences with game devs, because they can ALWAYS redeem themselves. less
What RS does is it changes different things about a side quest, like quest giver, dungeon, reward, etc. It is not a quest generator.
Though, it does generate very minor, small quests, or tasks.
