My mods display

I learned the basics of the creation kit and retexturing last night, so I think I'll be doing alot of that over the next week or so. I'll post up my work here and edit it in to the original post as I make more.

First up, retextured some silver weapons (model of the Shortsword and DaggerĀ is from Weapon Variant Expansion). Since all silver weapons use the same texture I can make all the weapons easily enough.

I've uploaded it to the Workshop so you can check it out there: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=15844.

I think for awhile it's going be 'Gold-trim all the things!'

I'm going to work on a new version of the Steel Plate armor soon, and for now I'm going to try converting one of the clothing items into a chain shirt, and changing the leather scales on the guard armor into steel.

    Ā

    13/3 Update 1:

Retextured all the scaled guard armor. Instead of leather scales now it looks like steelĀ - and it turned out pretty well.I've made it a second item - a new heavy armor version, and it'sĀ  in the randomly generated soldier kits (so some will have the old leather and some the new steel). Ā

I might have a couple of questions on the Modders Workshop next few days about some other stuff (trying to convert the mage robes into a combination of scales/chain to be used by Vigilants of Stendarr). I've ditched the steel plate idea for now, maybe once I get more experience with theĀ specular maps/normal maps.

***THIS MOD HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED, TO BECOME PART OF 'SCALE ARMOR'.***

    19/3

Noble Swords has recieved a MASSIVE update, with 2 new weapon sets (ebony and elven). More info is on the mod page!

    Ā

    24/3

Finished off my newest mod, which adds light and heavy chainmail armor to the game. There's a few issues but nothing too broken (besides no female versions yet, they use male models for now).

    Check it out here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=18343

Yes, that's our friend Aedric there on the left

There's some other stuff I've been planning - firstly I'm going to quickly update my existing mods, I need to add scaled armor to the holds that use padded cloth and make better looking sheaths for my other mod.

Secondly I'm going to do the armored robe thing (now that I can normal map, that was the main issue) and add it to lists/make it craftable etc etc.

ThirdĀ I'm planning on making an elven version of the steel plate armor, and finally making a side quest to go with each of my mods where you can get the items without murder/stealing/crafting.

    30/3

My next mod has been released, which combines my new scaled robe textures, used by the Vigilants of Stendarr, as well as my old Guard Armor mod, now with versions for all the holds (including Stormcloaks). It also includes armor hoods to go with the scale robes.

Quick update for this: Now that I'm off uni for the year I'm thinking of getting back into modding. My first project is going to be to make some 'armed and armored' Giants, using some texture edits for the armor and adding some scaled up normal weapons fo...  more

I've updated chainmail, I think it might be time to move on to bigger and better things. Got one more retexture planned and then I'm going to start building quests!

I cast the 'Identify Texture' spell from the Image Editing school to place magical runes on my equipment to determine what part of the texture is what, this one looked particularly good

Chainmail's back to the third page now. It peaked at third place on most popular this week, I think I enjoyed my 12 hours of fameĀ
