1.2 Patch coming Wednesday for all platforms

  • Just posted on Bethesda Blog (so its 'official') that the plan is to post the patch on Wednesday.

Here are the release notes which detail the main things that will be addressed by the patch

UPDATE 1.2 NOTES (all platforms unless specified)

    • Improved occasional performance issues resulting from long term play (PlayStation 3)
    • Fixed issue where textures would not properly upgrade when installed to drive (Xbox 360)
    • Fixed crash on startup when audio is set to sample rate other than 44100Hz (PC)
    • Fixed issue where projectiles did not properly fade away
    • Fixed occasional issue where a guest would arrive to the player’s wedding dead
    • Dragon corpses now clean up properly
    • Fixed rare issue where dragons would not attack
    • Fixed rare NPC sleeping animation bug
    • Fixed rare issue with dead corpses being cleared up prematurely
    • Skeleton Key will now work properly if player has no lockpicks in their inventory
    • Fixed rare issue with renaming enchanted weapons and armor
    • Fixed rare issue with dragons not properly giving souls after death
    • ESC button can now be used to exit menus (PC)
    • Fixed occasional mouse sensitivity issues (PC)
    • General functionality fixes related to remapping buttons and controls (PC)

At first glance this seems to directly address quite a few of the issues that I've been seeing on the various threads about glitches and problems - and certainly the most common ones.

    Any thoughts?

Hope this will help my "soul not absorbed after killing a dragon" frequent and mostly unbearable issue, which happened to me this morning when heading to Ansilvund by the way. (and more commonly happening after beating the main quest) -.-

I noticed the giant glitch isn't among the list of fixes. I guess Bethesda liked it as much as we did.

I just hope they make it available for people to download off the internet. I don't have xbox live and in my situation I can't get it. I did pay for the game though and believe it should be available to me as it is to anyone else.

I was hoping they would fix the "Blood on the Ice" quest. I can't seem to start it. I do like how they fixed the dead people at the wedding, that "rare" issue happened with both my characters.

I agree Bruma, I don't mind the fact that some Dragons just fly off looking for other prey
A touch of realism rather than a 'glitch', I thought....
