Earlier this year, Bethesda offered free games for life to any couple who produced a baby on 11.11.11... and named him or her 'Dovahkiin'
It seemed a good publicity stunt at the time, but I wonder if they actually expected anyone to do it?
Well, step forward game crazy couple Megan and Eric Kellermeyer.  And welcome their 8lb 1/2oz baby boy Dovahkiin Tom Kellermeyer...
Here's what doting Mum had to say on the subject "The reason being it is an awesome name... and, yes, it comes with a fantastic prize in Bethesda's baby-naming contest to coincide with the release of Skyrim"
Speaking as a parent myself, I have to say my wife would probably kill me if I'd ever suggested naming one of our children after a video game character! And I don't know what young Dragon-Born's school friends are going to make of his name, although he'll be able to console himself with freebie Elder Scrolls and Fallout games for life so its not all bad.
Needless to say the publicity people at Bethesda have been quick to jump on this. A spokesperson commented:Â "Be it the real world or the game worlds we create, we wish young Dovahkiin the best in all his adventures. And if Alduin ever reaches this realm, we'll be in touch."
Incidentally, as a publicity stunt this has hit the jackpot. I read this story in one of our UK national daily newspapers
Would you call your child after a character in Skyrim and now that Dovahkiin seems to have been taken, which character would YOU choose for your offspring?

I would go for Tiberius or Saadia.
