Greetings faithful site members
As you know from my previous posting, we are making a lot of changes to move the site from being a Skyrim-centric site to one which is focused on the Elder Scrolls and Fallout franchises.
Part of that is to give the site a new name to reflect the new direction. We did initially think that we would have a complicated nomination and poll process - but to be honest, we've gradually come around to thinking that might not be such a good idea.
Frankly, throwing everything open to the randomness of public voting doesn't always produce the best results (just look at the recent UK elections as an example!). If we end up with a name that is too gimmicky, or wears thin after six months, we couldn't really go through it all over again. Then there is the question of ensuring that we get a name that we can actually buy the domain...
So, Emer and myself have come to the conclusion that we should choose the name. We've looked at the many options suggested and decided that the best of the bunch is.... (drum roll please)
The Tamriel Vault
Here is a name which encompasses the location ALL Elder Scrolls games - which means we are including not only Skyrim, but Oblivion, Morrowind and Daggerfall, as well as Elder Scrolls Online. And, here's the bonus - so long as Bethesda don't throw a complete curve ball and set Elder Scrolls VI on Akavir, then we're well set for the next Elder Scrolls too.
Then we have the word 'Vault' which is, of course a fundamental part of the Fallout game series. We already know that Fallout 4 starts in a Vault - its one of the very few things we know about the story in fact.
But also 'Vault' is defined as 'a large room or chamber used for storage'. In a virtual sense you could say that this site is a place where many things are stored. We have our wonderful archives of Lore, Tips and Roleplay, not to mention thousands of Blogs and Stories - all of these will remain, be added to, and be an important part of our site going forward
So 'vault' actually has this double meaning...
That's why we feel that The Tamriel Vault is a great name for what we want this place to be! And for this reason Emer has already grabbed the domain name. Now, don't worry, we will keep the existing Ning address, so you will still find all your links work. But when the domain is set up, it will direct you straight to our home page.
We have a lot to do to get ready for the changeover, and work has already started on this. I've been here almost the whole of today working on stuff - and more things will be changing as we go along, so please cut us a bit of slack (we all have jobs, school and life, you know!)
OK, that's where we are right now. More news on the site as we proceed, but please feel free to ask questions, add comments or whatever below

Sounds pretty good actually.
