END OF YEAR POLL What is your 'game of the year'?

    It has become the custom on The Skyrim Blog for the final poll of the year to be a 'game of the year' poll. It's our chance to chew the cud over the various games that have thrilled - or disappointed - during the course of 2014.

    I've selected a bunch of games that are a reasonable fit with The Skyrim Blog demographic - with a bias towards RPG and Action Adventure rather than loads of FPS-style stuff. But if you want to stick up for something that's not in the list, then make your case in the comments.

    This poll will run for two weeks, over the Christmas and New Year - so there's plenty of time to vote. And the next poll won't be until the start of the New Year when we will have our annual 'Which game are you most looking forward to in the coming year' poll...

    For the record, the winners in previous years were

    2013   Grand Theft Auto V

    2012  Assassins Creed III

    2011 Skyrim (doh! )

    For me it was Super Smash Bros for WiiU and Mario Kart 8

    Here, I've only played ESO (in the beta), hearthstone and shadow of Mordor. I didn't get a chance to play eso because the game wouldn't work and hearthstone is nothing special IMO

    I've played Banished the most, and I'm actually playing it right now, but the only game listed I've played is Hearthstone and ESO, and my gripes with one are known.

    I didn't like the new Dragon Age actually, the story was weak and I didn't like the characters that much.

    I play Assassins mostly to mess around with the people in it, Dark Souls II Far Cry 4, Dragon Age I mess around with too. Shadows of Mordor was kinda boring as well as Infamous, and Watchdogs was just terrible. I have to say Walking Dead S2 was the best m...  more

    @Paul: some of us have bought games this year, just not ones that came out in 2014. Personally, I've bought several games in Steam sales, from GoG and a few humble bundles. I rarely buy games at full price nowadays; on a limited budget my money goes a lot...  more

    @Paul. This is a gaming site, but its focused around Skyrim, which is an RPG. Most people are probably still playing old RPG like Skyrim because they just keep giving. Everytime I get a game, I play it for a while, but I always come back to Skyrim.

    Personally, I want Wolfenstein on the list, but I doubt it would win as well
