Clarification on Spoilers and Leaked Content

    Hello everyone

    We are now, as expected, starting to find that people are coming up with site content based on the leaked game that has appeared. 

    This cannot continue, otherwise we are going to get a lot of people leaving this site. Therefore, I have amended the policy that I introduced yesterday. For your convenience, I have posted it on its own separate tab on the top menu. You should take a moment to read this.

    The new element is that, with immediate effect, ALL discussion which relates in any way to the leaked game can be discussed, but ONLY in the Spoiler Group which I have set up for that purpose. That Group is open for anyone to join - if you do not want spoilers don't join it. It does not feed any information to the Activity Stream in the sidebar, so you can completely avoid spoiler content by avoiding that Group.

    To clarify, this means that you may NOT post any screenshots, gameplay information or potential plot spoilers ANYWHERE on the main site (by which I mean uploading photos, starting blogs, commenting on forum on the main site etc) - but you CAN in the Spoiler Forum.

    It's fairly straightforward, so I hope you can all immediately start to do this. There are a few blog posts and comments which I am now going to remove. Feel free to repost in the Spoiler Group. And any further content of this nature will also be removed.

    This solution will hopefully keep everyone happy - whether they want to see spoilers or not - and I am relying on you to exercise self-discipline in being fair to everyone on the site.

    hi, i was just wondering whether ill be allowed to ask the question, purely because i don't really know myself and im interested. 'will the pirate copy have much of an effect on things considering the small amount of time 'till release date' I hate spoile...  more

    Im happy about this. I was worried the site was going to get flooded with spoilers from pirated game copies. Not just media release's that are carefully handpicked little bits and pieces. But downright massive spoilers, revealing things Bethesda wanted to...  more

    Midst all the recent updates I forgot to thank you for doing this! I must say, I do enjoy spoilers. I don't think they ruin anything, but I would rather the pages be filled with actual news. Thank you for keeping the site both clean and professional Paul!

    @The Nexus, I am no Paul, but I am pretty sure he will be announcing the new Site Hosts within the next day or two.

    @Paul, I might be one of those people sending you private messages often, I'll try to cut you some more slack, but I just hate seeing spam posts everywhere. =/

    @emer did you not read what it says on the description for that group. 'A private group for site hosts'. How could it have been any clearer??
