We've hit the 5000 member milestone!

  We've reached a very significant milestone in the life of The Skyrim Blog today as we reach the milestone of having 5000 members.

  A big welcome to Tim from 'down under' in Australia, who has just been validated as our 5000th member of the site.

  I can still remember the angst we had on the old site, debating whether anyone would want to 'sign up' for a members site if we switched from a Wordpress blog to a Social platform such as Ning. And yet here we are, roughly 18 months later, with a whopping 5000 members.

  Obviously, as with all social sites, not every member is active. And there are many who have long since departed these parts - and presumably the land of Skyrim as well. That's how things roll on the Internet. But I routinely purge those who take the trouble to leave - as well as banning and blocking significant numbers of spammers and trolls - so the actual number who have ever signed up is much larger than 5000 people!

  But, anyway, today is a time to celebrate our achievements.

  Here we are, going where few other Skyrim sites have been able to go - still growing more than 18 months after the game was released. 

  Let's raise a jug of mead and toast our success!
