The Friday Poll Round Up

  • It's time for another round up of the weekly site polls that we have each week on the site. What I've done is choose four of the more recent and interesting polls, and made graphs to show the results that came from those polls. Hope you find them interesting!

Which Guild gave you the most fun?

We've had polls about the Skyrim Guilds before, but this one specifically asked about which had given our site readers the most 'fun'.

As you can see the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild gathered a very high proportion of the votes cast, with the rest trailing in the wake. Not much love for the two warring factions in the much vaunted Skyrim Civil War - and the whole 'Ive only been here five minutes but I'm already a trusted member of the inner circle' vibe made sure that The Companions were right down towards the lower reaches.

When did you last play Skyrim?

This one was blindingly simple - we just wanted to see how active people still were in playing Skyrim. Here are the self-explanatory results

Which missing features would you most like added?

Now firstly I need to explain that this poll preceded the announcement that Bethesda were done with Skyrim. That said, here are the results:

I must confess I've never quite understood the obsession that people have with spears. I rarely ever used one in Morrowind, and didn't miss them in Oblivion or Skyrim. But each to their own..

Faction Rivalries was something I'd really loved to have seen in Skyrim, having seen what Obsidian did in Fallout : New Vegas. And good to see a lot of love for the Unarmed Skill too...

    What is Bethesda doing now?

This poll obviously sprang directly from the announcement of no further Skyrim content. A whopping 1400+ people voted on this poll, and the results were as follows:

I've got to confess that I only put in the option about 'Bethesda screwing with us and making more DLC' as troll-bait. But an amazing 265 people either took the bait, or genuinely believe that Bethesda will being out more DLC (despite straight up denials from Pete Hines). Ah well...

But most of us believe that the sequence will be that Fallout 4 will come next, to be followed in perhaps 3 years time by the much-awaited Elder Scrolls VI

So that's a quick round up of recent polls. Does anything surprise you there? Or were the results pretty much as you would have expected? Let us know in the comments.

Please, if there is a Malacath, let the next thing Bethesda releases be Fallout 4, followed very closely by Elder Scrolls VI. And on another note, I would LOVE to see spears again. Not that I remember them from any game in particular (my real ES experienc...  more

Also, (after reading comments) I find stealth to be more fun than straight up fighting and magic as well so long as its with daggers, stealth archers lose my interest pretty quickly.

I have been playing a bit of Morrowind and I gotta say that faction rivalries would have been great. I love the mage's guild questline in Oblivion and would have loved to have been able to join the Order of the Black Worm.

I like stealth, and almost all my characters use it to some extent. That being said I enjoyed College of Winterhold questline the most. It had some feeling of research and discovery that no other questline had. The Thieves Guild however is the most respon...  more

I'm with Phil on this. Stealth is pretty boring to me, I only enjoyed it on one character (my Keerilth), and even then 70% of his encounters were open combat. Though my favorite style is definitely being a spellsword.

Straight up fighting in a nutshell= hit, block, hit, block, heal, hit, block... *snore*

Stealth was interesting for me for two reasons:

    1. If I was to be discovered, I more than likely would have died, I wasn't built for open com...  more

I would have rather seen something done with factions honestly. If we couldn't have rivalries I would have at least liked a sprucing up of the current ones we've had. It makes no sense that my dimwitted warrior can be the archmage, or my wimpy mage be the...  more

Its funny, Bryn, I thought sneaking was bland. Where's the challenge if the enemy doesn't know you're there? How can straight up fighting be bland? That's 50% or more of what Skyrim is about for me.
Magic can be boring if you go for a destuction mas...  more

I like the thieves guild and dark brotherhood because straight up fighting is bland and magic is boring in the beginning (the reason why I don't like the mages college the most... And why I have never made a pure mage)
